“Fresh, local hide-a-way place for a great lunch.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

All orders are made to order. Choice of soup, salad, sandwich, quiche, and wonderful homemade deserts. Not fancy at all, located in an old house in the old village. You get you own drinks, the door doesn't always close all the way, few tables, BUT my girlfriends go here often....It is soooo good!

“An unknown gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013 via mobile

While others have posted about the evening menu at the Village bakery, I felt that the lack of detail hindered others from trying it out. So I wanted to write my review of a meal with my wife and two other friends on Friday April 19, 2013. First let me say that this is a cafe style setting, holding at the most 32 people, with white paper on the tables like any French bistro. Also the menu is sinple with one soup and 4-5 other appetizers and 5 or so entrees. However, we all sampled across the menu and enjoyed all of our dishes, from a fresh fish to crab cakes to a softshelled crab. With a coupon, our first bottle of wine was 50% off. So in all while the menu may be short, the restaurant is doing what more places should be doing, taking what is fresh in the market and bringing it to the table. Also, last but not least the prices are very reasonable, so not only do you leave with the enjoyment of a very good meal, but one that has not destroyed your budget. At the end of our meal, the chef came out and we asked why she was not packed with people.
She said that she thought that people wanted to dine with her, they had to come looking for her and that frankly the neighborhood hopes they are not discovered, so the locals can continue to get a table.

“Great Chicken Salad”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013 via mobile

Loved the chicken salad sandwich. Wish I would have had more time in the area to try other items on the menu. Everything looked really, really great!
