“Worst Ever! Filthy!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2004

Nasty and Disgusting!
The worst were the beds because they were broken down in the center, old & dirty.
Bathroom door broken off hinges, the dresser was torn up and the carpet was filthy.
The MANAGEMENT was unconcerned when we complained but transferred us into another room after 12:00 the next day and still charged us. This room was $230.00 for 2 nights. Our cat box is cleaner!

February 2004 - Check into Days Inn - last room available-a convention was in town. Cock roaches in room on two of three nights, ceiling above bathtub exposed, under bed was 1/4 thick with dead bugs, dust and hair.
Very gross! Ice maker in hallway made loud noise all night. Complained to hotel owner and only got half my money back. Days Inn corporate was no help. Having said that, I will never patronize the Days Inn hotels again. Their Sun Burst rating system is bogus. It is not accurate nor is it verified. Plenty of hotels out there....do your research and use this great website to share your experiences.

My family and I stayed at this hotel on April 5 (my second time staying here). If you're looking for something fancy with alot of amenties, this place isn't for you. If you're just looking for a clean, quiet room to come back to after your outings, then give this place a try. The rooms are small, but the carpet, linens, etc. are clean. There is a hair dryer and a small refrigerator in the room. There is a small pool, and a courtyard with benches if you'd like to sit outside and relax. The attached Huddle House is convenient for breakfast and if you show them your room key, you receive a 10% discount. You can be in Charleston proper or the Isle of Palms within 15 minutes. There are plenty of resteraunts and shopping complexes right down the road. We paid about 55.00 for this room, and hotels in the surrounding area were charging 99.00 and above.

Visited this hotel in May 2002 & found the price & rooms a good value, especially with the walk-in coupon. The room was clean with an in-room safe. But no fridge-microwaves, those must have been added after my stay. Pleasant courtyard area with small pool & picnic area. No playground. We stayed on ground-floor facing the pool & it was great since the pool was just steps away. VERY quiet to be so close to Hwy 17, no traffic noise at all. The surrounding area appeared to be safe.
Did not notice any rowdy partiers at this hotel during my family's stay. Very small check-in area attached to a Huddle House-type restaurant. About 15-min drive to Isle of Palms County Park which cost $5 to park but has clean bathrooms, outdoor showeres, changing stalls, picnic area with grills & playground. Otherwise, you can park on street & pay the meter. Take into account the Cooper River Bridge connects the hotel to the historic Battery section of Charleston. Two lovely bridges, but if afraid of heights, the narrow bridge may make you anxious. Just get someone else to drive over the bridge & enjoy the view. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
