We were at The Little River Shrimp Fest and were looking for a place to grab a drink and a bite to eat (there was plenty of amazing looking food at the festival, but we wanted to have a drink with our meal, and no liquor allowed outside). I had heard of Capt. Juels but had never been there and wish I could still say I havent' been there. When we stepped inside, we were immediately greeted and given a table overlooking the water outside. When we were handed the menus, they were hand written and titled "Shrimp Fest Menu". The choices were few, and the prices seemed high, but we are always willing to pay good money for good food. I ordered a Captain and diet and was told that they ran out of Captain. On the hand written menu, a rum punch was advertised for 6.00. I ordered that instead and the drink was syrupy and didn't seem to have any liquor in it at all. We ordered two caesar salads and two orders of coconut shrimp. The salad could not be ordered with the dressing on the side....this made me raise my eyebrows, but I ordered it anyway. When our food arrived, the ($8.00) salad was soggy and wilted and not cold. The shrimp was obviously of the frozen variety, very small and at a price of $8.00 for 5 of them was definitely not worth it. The service here was good, the food and drinks were delivered in a timely manner and the location is great, but the value and quality of the food left much to be desired. It's a shame....we are locals and are always looking for a new favorite place. There are other restaurants around, don't waste your money here.
