We stayed at the Abingdon Manor for one night the week before Christmas. The house was beautiful and our room (The Senator Suite) was large, clean, beautifully decorated and comfortable. The house is old and charming and romantic. The owners were warm and welcoming, but still very professional. They made every effort to ensure we were comfortable. The common areas of the house are comfortable and roomy. Our bathroom was a little small, but that's not surprising in a 100yr old house. All guest rooms have private baths.
We did have dinner there....it rivaled some of the best restaurants I've been to and was extremely good value for the money. There were several courses served....all were very nicely done. Breakfast was a treat too.
We did not explore the town....we stayed overnight on a driving trip from FL to VA.
The only negative was the nearby train tracks. The train does run at night, so earplugs were provided for light sleepers. I was awakened a couple of times during the night, but I was so cozy in my bed I didn't mind much.
