I arrived at the Days Inn early but was unable to check in until after 2:00 which was fine. I was there for a family reunion. This was our hotel of choice. Several family members were already there since Friday. After I checked in, I went to observe the room. The air was not working good ,there was a dead roach in the refrigerator, no towels in our room. I turned the A/C up to high. I called down to the front desk and was told that I could come get my towels. I thought this was awkward, but went anyway. I decided to go to the pool and wait on the air to start working. It was in the high 90's temperature wise. No towels by the pool which is stated in the policy.I got down to the front office and asked for towels and was told that there were only 3 towels in the entire hotel. No washcloths. No hand towels. NOTHING. I said well I will take pool towel. The clerk, Nita Patel, said none of them either. I would have to wait until in the morning when housekeeping arrived. I mentioned that our A/C wasn't working and she said she would come and take a look at it. Everything after that went down hill. Customer Service was terrible. She came to my room and accused me of messing up the A/C. She said I left it on last night. I corrected her to say that I didn't check in until after 2:00pm on 7-17-2010. She said that it had frozen up. Asked for another room. She said things happen and that she couldn't build another room that fast. She said no other vacancy. She said that she would put heaters toward unit and it would only take 15 minutes. She said that we can sit in the lobby or go to someone else room. Instructed that I would go to another room for the 15 minutes. I also told her that I would like some kind of compensation for the inconvenience. She stated that she couldn't and told me to call priceline.com. So I called priceline.com and told them the activities that led up to this call. Spoke with Travis, priceline.com representative who suggested that I go talk to her and she will give me a full refund. He said that I needed to go within 30 minutes. I went straight to front office. She started yelling from my first sentence. She said that she wanted me off her property since I told Travis about her hotel and was unhappy. I said fine once I got my money back. She in turned called the Lake City police. She said that she didn't have to do anything to help resolve the matter. She then in turned called more officers. The police had to intervene. She in turned returned my money only 30% and told me priceline.com would reimburse the rest. I in turn left the property with a BAD taste in mouth about Days Inn. I have never been treated in this form. I believe she is a bad example of what Days Inn represent. Several other customers were out of rooms by this time due to the 4 police cars and lights. One other customer even suggested law suit. Not trying to take it there, but really feels like something should occur to correct this matter. I don't want this to happen to anybody else. I think this hotel should close or go under another name besides Days Inn. Not a good example of quality definitely not service. She needs customer service skills 101. I did get a police report and would never refer anyone to live in another Days Inn in my lifetime. There are only 2 hotels in this city and I believe that she thinks she can treat people anyway she wants because of the options. Even the police say that they have been out there on several occasions because of her. My whole family wanted to leave because of her service but she refused to give any body their money back except for my sister and I because we were both on the reservation together. The impact of loosing 10 rooms would have greatly impacted her. Needless to say she ruined what was suppose to be a joyous occasion, the family reunion. I have family from around the country that was all outside with me to experience the behavior of this individual. We are a very unified family.

Thank you for taking the time to write the review, we strive to provide the best to our guest and do understand that it is our job to give you the best of service regardless, but not at the cost of other guest. It is unfortunate that hotel had to act to the best interest of everyone and have security escort you and also your family in the second room. I thank you both for writing the review. The incident written by you does not match the local policy report (we have copies) and nor does the video surveillance system. But thank you for your in put anyway.
