“Pretty good.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2013

I actually think this place may be hit or miss. I am giving it four stars because I have really liked what I ordered the two times I have been there (mussels we good and scallops with peach/bacon glaze were amazing!) but the people I went with gave the food lukewarm reviews. The cornbread is really really good. The desserts were better than any we had at the restaurants at the resort (try the key lime pie).

“Saturday Night Dining”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

We went for dinner on Saturday night 5/4/13 and were surprised and disappointed for the first time since they opened at the Freshfields location. Two out of the three liked the meal, the exception was the Restaurant special of Halibit, it was grilled but had no taste, we had asked if they could blacken it but the waitress said they had no seasoning to do it. Suprising for a restaurant that could not accomodate the request to blacken the fish. The Oyster appetiser was the real disappointment, the fried Oysters as they were so tiny and appeared to be pieces instead of a whole oyster.

“Good food.......but really pricey!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

This restaurant was good, the atmosphere was sweet but the pricey menu was a bit much. It wasn't a busy night and there were many empty tables. Our waitress was very nice and quite attentive. The mussel appetizer was very good and the mussels were huge. My wedge salad was good too, especially the bacon. The bill was really high for what we ordered. I think if they lowered the prices for their menu items there would be lots more people in there!!

“A lot of fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

Our waiter was charming and informative who told us about the specials as if he actually cared. The food we had was quite good. The snails were delicious and the crab cake was good if not absolutely wonderful My guests enjoyed their calves liver, not every one's favorite, but for those of us who like it, it was very good. The key lime buy was deliciously tart and sweet. The she crab soup was the best I had on the trip

“Dinner with Friends”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

When we are in the Seabrook Island area, we always make a point of eating dinner at Hege's at least once, if not more often. Their menu is creative, delicious and the wait staff is attentive, extremely knowledgeable and well seasoned. They remember drink orders from previous visits and favorite wines. Although we can always find something on the menu, we know to wait to hear the detailed list of specials before making up our mind. This evening, in addition to the onion and she crab soup, all four of us ordered specials which included the Oysters Rockefeller and Crab and Lobster Salad. New tastes for old favorites. It was a great choice and more than filling. When one person in our party wanted to know when whole fish would be a special again, she was told to call a few days ahead of her visit and it would be ordered for her! You can't beat that level of attentiveness.
