“Great Food and Excellent Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

Acme has a relaxed environment with two great bars, but definitely has more than a bar food menu. We had a table of four the first time we went and ordered the wings, fried green tomatoes, and nachos for appetizers and it was all very tasty. We ordered two bottles of wine, and it was a nice surprise when the chef, Frank Kline, came out to present and pour for us. For dinner we had the lobster mac cheese (so very good), the Carolina succotash with scallops (perfection... the scallops were perfectly cooked and the succotash was full of flavor), the mahi mahi fish tacos (didn't have a bite of these, but was told they were some of the best she's had), and finally, the shrimp and grits (shrimp was cooked perfectly and the grits were seasoned great and creamy). So, needless to say, we truly enjoyed our dinner here. We even went back two nights later and the food and service was just as fabulous.
By the way, Shawna is a wonderful server!! I would recommend sitting in her area, if possible.

“Seafood and Grits and Key Lime Pie, Oh, My!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

Unpretentious and casual surroundings allow the owners to concentrate on the food, which lived up to the great reviews. The scallops with pimento grits and spinach were perfectly prepared and perfectly delicious. Other entrees included shrimp with andouille sausage and grits, fried oysters, fish tacos...the list was quite extensive. Unable to resist the key lime pie, our party shared tastes and agreed that buying the whole pie would be a great idea! (We discussed it with the waitress.:)) despite all our trips to Isle of Palms, we had never dined here. Because of the toddler with us, we went early, which turned out to be a good idea as the placed filled up quickly and parking is tight. There are spots along the front and a lot beside this house-turned-dining hotspot.

“Excellent seafood in a relaxed environment”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

We visited this restaurant twice during our Charleston vacation. We selected from the daily specials and our seafood was fresh and expertly prepared both times. It was nice to dine without the 'dress up' usually required for food of this caliber, and service was very friendly.

“Casual Atmosphere, Good Food & Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

This is a great find in Isle of Palms, if you're looking for a casual sit-down restaurant with good food and friendly service. Not fancy, but a pleasant place for a casual dinner.

“Tasty food and friendly service at the beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

The clerk at our hotel recommended this restaurant to us and it did not disappoint! We had fish tacos and shrimp tacos, the shrimp were better. The sides, fresh vegetables, were super as well! No afterthought french fries here! The lady at the hotel recommended the crab cake, but being from VA we get those all the time. If you're not an East Coaster it might be worth a try.
