“Great View”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

We have eaten at Topside several times. The food has always been outstanding. Sometimes the service is less than expected.

“Spectacular sunset views with good food and outstanding service!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

As locals we have tried this restaurant with several times over the past few years - with mixed results. The restaurant has just reopened after being closed for Holidays, and the improvements in service and food was quite apparent, Topside sits above the Quarterdeck in Harbourtown and it has world class views of the Sound, Daufuskie and the 18th Hole of Harbourtown...We took out of town guests there for dinner and views and it was worth it!

“Wonderful view and food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

We've eaten here numerous times over the 25+ years we've been going to Hilton Head. Quality has come and gone - but we are happy things at Topside are "back on top" (pardon the pun!). We have young kids (1, 3) and sometimes feel limited with the number of restaurants within SeaPines that are kid-friendly. And while I like to think our kids are/were very well behaved, I wouldn't consider Topside a "family" restaurant (it is just too nice a restaurant and you don't want to spoil it for others) - but the staff was certainly very accommodating. That said, if you give them a heads up, and go early, I'm sure it is fine (they do after all, have a kids menu). Anyway - we are certainly not an easy crowd to please - foodies, wine connoisseurs and a vegetarian - plus the 2 kids - but everyone was more than happy with their meals. I want to particularly extend a special thanks to Richard (?) who was our server - who suggested that our son's hot dog come out earlier than the adult main courses. So smart! We will certainly brave another trip in the near future - and I hope we'll be just as welcome and happy with our meals!
(and just a note: I only gave 4/5 for families with children - not because it wasn't great for our kids - but I'd plan it carefully and only if you've got good kids!)
The view was amazing - and... the pelicans flying by were a big hit with the kids, while my dad was super happy to watch the golfers finish up!

“Wonderful View, Food is Average”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

We found this restaurant on our visit to Harbour Town and decided to head back that evening for dinner. I did a little research online and found they have a Value Bird Menu served from 5 - 6 pm which had items that both my wife and I enjoy. ($15.95 for 2 course meal or $19.95 for a 3 course meal, & drinks not included) The cost is a little more than I like to pay but we were on vacation and we knew we were paying for the view. The sunset was at 6:10pm so we started dining at 5:30pm. We were seated by the window and had a great view! Be WARNED that even though I called and asked about the Value Menu when we sat down they provided us with just their normal menu thus if you didn't know about their Value menu they were not going to tell you about it. Normal menu pricing started at $19 for chicken up to $35. I got the 3 course meal which consisted of Cesar Salad, Salmon, & Pecan Pie. Just the cost of the Salad and Salmon was $32 on their regular menu so the Value Menu is well worth it! At the beginning of the meal they served some bread with freshly made pimento cheese and butter which was very good! In my opinion the rest of the meal was average and could be eaten at most spots but don't get me wrong it had good flavor. FYI - You can get the same view a little higher off the ground if you visit the Lighthouse just above this restaurant for $3.50 a person and that is after you pay $5 to enter the Harbour Town area. All in all we enjoyed our romantic dinner!

“Relaxing Marina Cafe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013 via mobile

We had one of our best meals here in the low country. Nice patio overlooking the harbour and sound. Try the fried green tomato appetizer, the low country burger, and anything with the cheese or andouille grits. Blackend cobie is good. Prices are very reasonable, considering it is part of a resort.
