We stopped here for lunch and found it warm and inviting on a blustery day. While ordering our drinks I told the waitress I wanted a cup of the mushroom barley soup but she replied that she would get our drinks first and then take our orders. She came back with the drinks and I ordered the Greek Salad while my husband ordered a fried chicken breast special. No mention was made of the soup but a few minutes later she brought it so I guess she was listening after all. I find it so off putting when waitstaff do not budge on the "let me take your drink orders first" script so I was pleasantly surprised.
The soup was good, with a stong beef broth flavor. It was exactly like a Beef Barley soup sans the beef and loaded with mushrooms.
The Greek Salad is billed as being topped with seasoned lamb strips but in reality it is topped with Gyros meat. There were 4 pita triangles so I made little sandwiches. The balsamic vinaigrette was very good, not too sharp. The salad itself had large wedges of tomato, slices of green pepper, slices of onion, feta, olives, cucumber, pickled artichokes and greek peppers. It required much cutting up on my part to eat and this is one area I dislike in many restaurants. While the presentation is nice, it is very hard to cut up things into bitesized pieces and not slop over the side of the plate or bowl. I should not have to work so hard to eat and would prefer the kitchen actually do the cutting.
The fried chicken was a boneless breast fried and topped with a gravy. It was served with home fries, basically fried potato cubes. The place stayed busy and the plates going by our table all looked tasty.

We look forward to seeing you the next time you are on the Island.
By the way I make little sandwiches out of the pita on the Greek Salad too, it is my favorite part.
