“Coolest Birthday Surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

This past weekend we took my mom to the Inn at Sea Pines Resort. In the reservation, I told them that it was my mom's birthday and that I wanted to do something special. They called the next day to arrange it! They took special care to pull my dad aside to make sure everything was just right. One the evening of her special celebration, she was surprised by flowers, a cake, and a card signed by the staff!! What a cool surprise for all of us.
The actual resort was amazing. I wish we played golf or tennis, because the facilities were beautiful. Instead my mom and shopped until our feet hurt. We took a quick afternoon trip to the beach too. It was really clean and quiet, unlike the beaches further up the island.
I was only dismayed by the need to drive everywhere. Unlike other beachfront properties, we had to drive to the beach, shopping center, and restaurants. My kids weren't happy about that because they are used to walking everywhere. There was not towel service at the pool either. Weird.
All of that aside, the actual inn was amazing. My 7 year old inhaled her omelets and marveled at the selections of teas and hot chocolates. I enjoyed the expansive bathroom. My parents couldn't get enough of the golf view balcony. My husband took pictures of the room..."I want our bedroom to look just like this."

Room Tip: Request a golf course view with a balcony.

“LOVE Sea Pines, but it needs updating desperately”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

I have been coming to Sea Pines for over 20 years. By far this is one of my favorite places! There's so much to see and do. We drive almost 15 hours each year when we live 45 minutes from beaches here. There is no comparison! The bike trails are always so much fun with the kids. We bike to the bakery in Harbour Town every day as well as the beach and Salty Dog. However, we were extremely disappointed in the accomodations this year. The villas/condos are all older and most are in need of updating. Our first villa had cockroaches and was almost 85 degrees when we checked in. I'm guessing it hadn't been rented for several weeks. The resort had only 2 vacancies to offer us. Both the new place we ended up in (Racquet Club) and the cockroach villa (Heritage Villas) were very dated. I'm not just talking paint. I mean grimy, 30+ year old bathtubs and showers. Kitchens not fully stocked, things not working. We always recommend Sea Pines as a place for friends to vacation and I'd be embarressed if they checked into any of these. For "deluxe" accomodations, very disappointing.

“awesome vacation spot for family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

Had a wonderful time at sea pines resort. Was recommended by friends who have been going there for many years. Was not disappointed. Renting the BIKES and traveling all the wonderful paths to the beach, harbourtown, and to the salty dog at south beach was the BEST!!!! Would look to stay in a different condo next time due to the lack of conveniences in our kitchen. Our location in Heritage villas 2234 was great but loved some of the other villas in Stoney creek. Ours was nice in that the view of lagoon was pretty and decor was nice but on the simple side and could have used a few more of the luxuries such as a nicer kept patio area with nicer patio furniture and a nicer grill. Had some troubles with the stove and microwave as well. Stoney creek and some of the others were beautifully kept and nicely stocked with kitchen supplies and very cozy. Will definitely be returning in the years to come......so much to still do and see in future visits.

“Punishment”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012

The Resort is on a nice piece of land and their golf course looks nice, however now we have a new name for " really bad," we call it "Sea Pines." We had to go to a family reunion and discovered the worse beaches and worse restaurants in the world... ever! Standard and simple rules! And you feel trapped in many ways...once you are there, it takes 20 to 30 minutes to get to restaurants outside the Resort. We were bored as the atmosphere is more of the same and offers very simple entertaining. Sea pines Resort became the new Yikes!!; Our kids imagine Sea Pines Resort under the bed...Ever since we experienced Sea Pines Resort we make the kids eat by threatening to take them there again if they don't eat or if they don't do the homework.

“Gorgeous setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2012

We did not stay in this resort but payed $5.00 for an all day pass. - what a great way to spend the day. There is so much beauty, lots of restaurants. The lighthouse and marina were wonderful. We'll be staying in the resort when we return.
