We had been to Alexander's in 2005, and had not planned to go back until so many people told us it was one of their favorites. We stopped by just to check it out, decided to stay, and without a reservation were seated with the lagoon view. The early dining menu had some great choices, and my seafood chowder and shrimp and grits with andouille sausage were delicious. Can't recall what my husband had, but he was happy with his meal.
Last visit, in December, 2005, our party of 5 was seated in the room to the right as one enters the restaurant, and, since it was Christmas week, and dark outside, we did not even know there was a lagoon, and the room just lacked the pleasant vibe of the room we enjoyed this time. As the dining room quickly filled up, it appears we were lucky and a reservation would be advisable, even early.
