“One of my all time favorites!”

We stayed here for two nights while traveling and sightseeing. We got to play tennis each day complimentary on nice clay courts. This place is one of the classiest and coziest places you will find. The staff is highly trained to treat you like royalty. Very nicely appointed rooms, awesome beds, free bike rides to the wide beach and island places. Walk to everything, to get a active peaceful vacation. Gorgeous low country, I can't wait to come back here to relax. We were allowed to check in early and were given a delightful room. Thanks to you all for a memorable stay. I can't wait to come back!

My company held our annual sales meeting at the Inn at Harbour Town - Sea Pines Resort. We were treated like Royalty from the second we arrived until the second we departed. Great experience, atmosphere and staff!

My boyfriend surprised me for my birthday which happens to be right after valentines day to The Inn at Harbor Town . I feel in love the moment we pulled up. The polite staff, beautiful decor and the respect each butler gave us was beyond this world . Now the room was even better . The bathroom which has a standup shower and a sit in tub, the king sized bed with very comfortable bedding and the rob and house slippers they provide for your comfort surpassed my expectations . I will def. be visiting here again soon !!

As a last minute getaway, my husband and I booked a room at the Inn. When we got in the car to head home, the first thing my husband said to me was, "Can we go back next year?".

The staff: From the time we walked in the door, the staff at the Inn made us feel important and right at home. Each staff member we came in contact was polite, friendly, and eager to please. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by Mr and Mrs [last name], given a tour of the Inn along with a complementary glass of champagne.

The room: The room was amazing! We had a "garden view" room with a balcony. The room was massive and had immensely comfortable beds! The bathroom was beautiful, with a large rainfall shower and soaking tub.

Food: We ate breakfast every morning at the Inn, and it was always delicious. The staff was, once again, wonderful during this time. We also had late-night room service one evening, which was presented to us beautifully.

We had a suite overlooking the pool and golf course, which was great. The room is ample in size; very comfortable. Beds are extremely comfortable. The bathroom is huge, and has a great shower as well as a large bathtub. The staff are phenomenal, and this makes the whole experience extremely special. As a guest, you really feel that they have your best interests at heart, and want to do everything they can to make the experience truly enjoyable. It was a great location for us, because we love to walk, and we were able to take great early morning walks each day. While some of Sea Pines Resort is looking a little bit tired, Inn at Harbour Town is a gem.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the golf course side. Otherwise, you may be overlooking the parking lot.

This is a clever idea. Take an established hotel in a good location. It's a slightly tired resort and you plan to, and indeed are, spending significant sums to update the facilities in the resort. But how do you keep the customers satisfied during the transition process? You focus on staff quality - but here is the clever bit. You don't spend money on experience but you bring in a number of young, keen, extremely pleasant 'interns' who do the majority of the customer facing service and have the added appeal of an English accent. You then train them long and hard. During this process you might run the risk of removing the personality from these Butlers, as they are called, but the training and selection at this establishment has been carried out to perfection.

In short, they are brilliant. They are efficient, helpful, pleasant, and fresh and the gamble pays off. I suspect that they are not being paid a fortune, and that makes me feel slightly guilty as they are my fondest memory of a memorable holiday.

The hotel is going through transition. The phones are from the seventies but all calls inside the US are free. The air con is noisy but it works. Catering services are limited but a full choice is available nearby in the resort. Your resort card gives you a 10% discount in other resort facilities and we were given a $50 dollar gift card on top. The bikes (everybody should use the bikes) are free. You feel that you are a valued guest and not being ripped off.

The ultimate question: would I go back? Yes. If only to be pampered by the Butlers again.

There are many luxurious resorts along the SE coast of the US - on the barriers islands of North and South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. I've stayed at many of them including The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island, The Cloister at Sea Island, The Ritz Carlton at Amelia Island, and properties on Jekyll and St Simons Islands. On my first visit to Sea Pines I found it as good as any such resort and better value than most. The Inn has a peaceful ambience and overlooks the Harbour Town championship golf course; rooms were large and well equipped - the bathroom in particular. Service was excellent and prices were what one would expect for this level of luxury. The Heritage Championship had recently ended and the course was in fantastic condition - it's one of the best. We also played the Ocean Course, which at half the price was a good value contrast. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby and the delightful marina at Harbour Town just a few minutes' walk away.

Room Tip: Through April 2015 there's some construction activity on the golf club house, causing some noise...
