“Not worth the $, very over-rated”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2014

Too be honest, I was disappointed with Harbour Town. I belong to a very nice country club, that has hosted PGA Championships, US Opens, and even a Ryder Cup, so I am very spoiled, but Harbour Town was VERY over-rated. It is ranked in the top 100, but is definitely not a top 100 course. It was in fair condition. They are currently building a new clubhouse, and the construction took away from the whole welcoming atmosphere as a whole. The course was bland for about 15 holes. A lot of straight forward holes that are guarded by waste bunkers. The back 9 is much more exciting than the front 9, and the last 3 or 4 holes are some of the best holes I have ever played. Other than the fantastic finish, this course is not worth the expensive price that you have to pay to play this course. That being said, it is always fun to play a course that the pro's play, and I look forward to watching them play it next year. It was nice to check it off the list, but I don't think I will ever play it again.

“Beautiful course setting... but caters to pros”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

I played here with friends last October and we all agreed that it is a really nice course, but the condition of the course was clearly not up to what the pros see when they are there in the spring. We played several other courses on HHI that week, and for a lot less money played in better conditions. That said, if you are looking to add 'world class courses' to your golf bucket list this is certainly one of them. If nothing else, the last hole coming into Calibogue Sound and the famous lighthouse, is stunning - and challenging! The forecaddie's all know this is the place to take a photo and will make sure you get a few at different angles.
One of the little known gems is the clubhouse which has a restaurant that is open to the public. You can not only stop in after a round, but if you are just visiting Harbour Town it is a great place for lunch - much better than the few places down by the harbor area - and not expensive.

“the best you will play”

You owe it to yourself to play one of the finest golf courses in the world. The fore caddy made our day only better.

“Very good, fun but difficult course to play”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

Great lay out, pretty, well taken care of with fantastic staff. If you enjoy great courses, this one is a must on hilton head. The only draw back is the price but I think it is worth it at least once. The back is gorgeous. But watch out! This course can be evil, 6's pile up very fast if you don't play smart even if you are a good golfer. Can be very frustrating if you let it get to you. Our caddy Sam, was a college student. Gave us the distance, cleaned and marked our balls, raked the traps and let us know when we hit out of bounce or in the water. Gave us advice where to land the balls on the tee shots and where the traps were. For the greens, she let us figure it out ( speed or brake). Very friendly, respectful. Did not feel rushed or intimidated. Played the course in 4:30 hours with stop for pictures.

“Harbor Town Golf Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2014

Wow, always an exceptional trip! You can now take the carts off the path. Even better. But today we had a fore-caddie Andrew. He plays for South Carolina Up-State College. Besides the stuff caddies do and course direction, he told some fun stories and gave us some funny lines we can take back to our home golfing buddies. Definitely ask for Andrew if you are heading down to HHI before he heads back to school. Good Luck next year. ~CB
