“Dolphins and a Manatee!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012

We thoroughly enjoyed our kayaking adventure with Roddy as our tour guide! Eric and Roddy were flexible and had a great back up plan when the wind proved to be to strong at the initial launch point the morning of our tour, so we went out on the Colleton River. There were lots of dolphins all around us. We had a surprise and rare bonus of seeing a young manatee who was as interested in us as we were with it! Roddy was a great guide and made everyone feel very comfortable and part of the group. Very enjoyable trip!

“A Bit Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012

We booked the trip for our vacation stay on Hilton Head Island. I let the guide know when I called for the reservation that we were beginners. No problem. The adventure was advertised as Hilton Head Island but is actually in Bluffton, a short drive from HHI. We arrived a few minutes early and had to wait for another party, who arrived late, no problem. Once we began paddling, we were having fun but were not at the front of the pack and therefore could not hear any of the historic information the guide had to offer. The trip was sold as a 2 hour guided tour. We were back in the car 1 hour & 45 minutes after the tour began, despite visiting the adjacent Bluffton Oyster Company. It was nice to be on the water, but it was neither guided nor 2 hours.

“What a BLAST!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

We've been coming to Hilton Head for years, and this time around we decided to try Paddle Boarding. Our 2-hour tour included a 30 minute lesson and a 90 minute guided tour. Our tour was my wife, 2 kids (15 & 12) and there was another couple there as well. The lesson was a joke (in a good way). Our guide Roddy showed us in about 10 minutes all that we needed to know: How to get on, how to stand and how to paddle. And then we were off! Roddy was very helpful and always made sure the slower paddlers were ok and keeping up. We stopped for a few breaks and tried different boards. By the end of the tour, it felt as if we were doing it for years. Can't wait to do it again!

“Great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2012

I had a great time kayaking with the Marsh Grass Adventures. My tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. He gave me helpful tips throughout the two-hour kayaking trip. The trip was for beginners and we had the option of going individually or as a double on the kayak. While on our kayaking experience we were able to see several dolphins which made the experience a wonderful and unique memory.
The other nice thing was that I purchased this "adventure" through a Groupon and was able to schedule my trip on the day/time I wanted with no scheduling conflicts.

“Nothing like paddling”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2012

We enjoyed our kayaking with Marsh Island Adventures immensely. Skull Creek was a lovely place to see wildlife and we were lucky enough to see some dolphins. Our guide was knowledgeable, which made it interesting. We learned that the cannonball-like jellyfish that are present now (May) do not sting, which made the rest of our trip most enjoyable. (There are different breeds of jellyfish at different times and some do sting.)
