“Bring your own pillow if you are allergic to down/feathers.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2011

This is a very nice Garden Inn, not far from the outlets and about 15-20 minutes from the beaches. We spent the night here on our way back to D.C. from FL. Our stay was much better than we had on the way down at the Hampton in Bluffton.
The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful and pleasant and the room was clean/comfortable.
My only complaint is that I requested foam pillows since I am allergic to down/feathers and was told that they don't have any in the hotel. Strange? I think so. I had to sleep with the couch pillow and far away from my husband so that I would not have an allergic reaction.
It would be really nice if they had some foam pillows & non-down comforters available for those with allergies. I won't stay here again for that reason, but otherwise it was a nice hotel for the budget minded if you are not looking for an ocean view.

Dear TravelPal28411~
Thank you very much for sharing your experience during your recent stay with our hotel. I am very sorry that our team was unable to meet your request for foam pillows. This was a training oversight as we do offer both down and foam pillows at our property. I will ensure we host a "refresher training" for our front desk team as to the amenities that we offer in our guest rooms.

It is our Hilton Garden Inn Brand standard that we supply both foam and down pillows to all of our guest rooms. Our Hilton Brand uses both the “Touch-of-Down” from Pacific Coast Feather and the Eco Brenthaven, to ensure a premium sleep experience for our guests.

Our Hilton Garden Inn Brand offers duvet and all non-down duvet inserts for all of our beds featuring hypoallergenic duvet inserts filled with a synthetic material that stays puffy, wash after wash.

Please let us know the next time your travels bring you to the area as we would enjoy upgrading your next sleep experience.

Hilton Garden Inn - Hilton Head Team

My girlfriends and I really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were really nice and spacious with very comfortable beds. The pool area was really nice and clean. Also the hotel is only like 10-15 minutes away from the beach depending on traffic. The location was really nice because it was very close to eating and shopping so that was a plus for us. If you’re looking for a nice hotel this is it.
Thanks to the staff at Hilton Garden Inn we have a fabulous stay.

We loved our stay at this hotel. The staff was great and eagerly helped us as we planned day trips. The location isn't on the beach and is about a 15 minute drive to Coligny Beach, but for the value it is worth the drive. It's also a good location to take day trips to Savannah - less than a 30 minute drive - take the backroads which the hotel can provide you with. We were disappointed with Savannah and expected more, but we absolutely loved our Sunday service at the First African Baptist Church - great Christian message! Look them up and see the history of the church. They also have tours during the week. Make sure you have a slice of pizza at Vinnie Van Go Go in the Market Place. Also go to the city of Beaufort on a separate day. in Beaufort visit Hunting Island Beach. There is a $5 per person charge, but it's an amazing place and worth every penny. Also visit Penn Center to get a history of the Gullah people. Look it up to get more info. Both Beaufort and Savannah are worth visiting. Back in Hilton Head, we had dinner 3 times at the Sake Japanese restaurant, which is a 5 to 10 minute drive. The food was excellent. We also enjoyed Giuseppis. There are 2 on the Island and each is worth a visit - excellent value. If you like nature, you'll love Pickney Animal Refuge, which is a 5 minute drive from the hotel. You can walk for miles and encounter amazing scenery and animals. Sea Pines is another good place on the Island to visit. There's a lighthouse you can climb to the top of for $3.50 - plan your time to see the sunset. There is also a nature preserve right after you pay which is great and further down are stores and restaurants. There is a $5 charge to get into the gate, but worth it. We ate at Crazy Crab which was good. It was great to come back to our comfy room and relax!

We stayed just one night. Beautiful location. Excellent cooked-to-order breakfast.
My husband left one of his favorite shirts behind when we checked out. He did not
realize this until 2 days later. He called. The hotel called him back about 6 hours later
to say they had his shirt and would mail it to him, which they did. He is very grateful,
and we are both so impressed with this extra effort made by the staff there.

Nice clean hotel. Safe neighborhood. Located just off the Island near Pinckney Island like most business on the island it's almost hidden by lush landscape along HWY so a little difficult to spot even when you have reached your destination. No traffic light so crossing traffic to get onto island can be frustrating.

I will definitely be back soon.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed this hotel. The hotel exceeded our expectations for a Hilton Garden Inn. Extremely clean room with a nice bathroom, nice lobby and in an excellent location in Hilton Head. We also we very pleased with the price. We were happy with the proximity to public beaches in Hilton Head (beaches have showers, so sand in the car was not an issue). Having small children, we did not like the (unleashed) dogs on the beach, not sure the rules on this, but in most beaches in Florida this is not allowed... I've never seen so many dogs on the beach (I love animals, but it was kind of gross to clean the sand off our kids right after someone washed their dog in the same place).
Tybee Island (fun dolphin boat ride) and Savannah are worth a visit. Although it was pretty, it was hard to find places to eat in Hilton Head, because everything is behind trees....We particularly enjoyed our visit to Honey Horn & the butterfly enclosure...Overall, our trip was pleasant, although we found Hilton Head Island a bit over-rated. The Hilton Garden Inn made the trip especially nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: You can get a room with or without breakfast.

We just stayed Easter weekend at this hotel for the "umpteenth" time since they built it - my in-laws live in Moss Creek right next door. The hotel was completely sold out as it was also the PGA Heritage golf tournament weekend. I had called the hotel repeatedly to book a room as the website showed it was sold out - Amelia was so helpful in suggesting what day to call back for cancellations and she was right! We scored exactly what we needed for the weekend. We picked up our keys about 5pm on our way in to the in-laws for two rooms - both suites right across the hall from each other just as I requested. Unfortunately when we returned later that night we learned that they had moved one of the rooms to another floor no suite - needless to say I was very angry because I was presented the room, signed for it and agreed to the rate so to me that room was mine unless there was some later discovered reason like a flooded bathroom that made it unusable. Poor Ryan, the night clerk on duty who has helped us for years - he received an earful. I asked him to call the general manager which he did at home. Long story short, he could not have been more accomodating and helpful - I asked him to find out how it happened and he did - he called us the next morning and we resolved the matter to everyone's satisfaction as I would expect an experienced Hilton manager to do. But if you learn any thing from reading this it's that the staff of this hotel are wonderful and deserving of praise, especially when they are so kind and professional when faced with a frustrated, tired mom who doesn't handle change very well and their hotel is booked solid!

I also must recognized Dixon, who was our server for breakfast both mornings and the chefs on duty on Sunday - we descended with the whole clan (10 of us) to eat Easter breakfast - everything was delicious and served promply. Dixon was a delight, especially when we learned he had worked for some of the same food and beverage folks on the Island over the years as my husband and brother in law - Dixon was charming and efficient at the same time and made us feel so welcomed even as we moved tables and took over a whole corner of the eating area - he never let the coffee cups go empty!

So, it may not be ocean front but the marsh views are amazing - please stay here on your next visit to Hilton Head - the staff will go above and beyone to meet your needs and exceed your expectations!
