We visited Hilton Head island this past weekend and enjoyed our time there. The Beach House Resort was ok. On arrival we were placed in a room at the far end of the hallway tucked away where no one could find us. Upon entering the room, it had a faint smell of must and wet towels and I immediately called to the front desk to be moved. After we took the "Green Mile" walk back down to the front desk which is located in another building, we were given another room on a different floor. We were told that there were no other rooms available closer to civilization, and the new room was still a far walk from what we anticipated. The new room was on a higher floor but the same tucked away corner as the 1st room. Needless to say, after driving 4 hours, we didn't feel like going back down to the front desk for the 3rd time. The front desk staff was very helpful despite the room mishap. After settling in and wanting to take a shower, we found that the shower handle was not operable...NO showers for us...On our way out, we stopped by the front desk again and made the staff aware of our problem. She immediately phoned maintenance and had them to go to our room and repair the shower handle. By the time we had made it back to the resort, we were so out of it, we went to bed. The Tiki Hut was awesome and the bartenders were great and attentive!! We had breakfast at the Markers 69 restaurant onsite the next morning. Blah Blah the buffet breakfast was nothing to right home about. The eggs were not good at all. They taste and look like powder eggs and the potatoes were dry. The overall stay was ok, but not really worth the money that we spent on the rooms. We did enjoy the trip however.
