When I checked in was greeted very nice very much made me feel welcome. I had two motorcycles one did not start the next day the front desk young lady went to her car and got jumper cables for me to try to jump it. that did not work they let me keep the bike there and some gear overnight till it could be picked up. Thank you front desk staff

“Good Location, OK hotel room, Good Breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013

We were in Hilton Head for 1 night and day. We are Choice Priviliges members and stay at their hotels when possible. We got there at night and decided to check the Quality Inn because it was rated a little higher on Tripadvisor and was a little bit cheaper, but the customer reviews were mixed on both hotels. The outside of the hotel and lobby looked good. However, when we checked the room, it was not very good so we decided to go on and check out the Comfort Inn. The staff at the front desk was very nice. We checked in and drove to the hotel which is about 2 blocks from the office and breakfast area. The room was better than the Quality Inn but was still just an OK hotel room but was clean. I could not get on the internet and called the front desk. They could not help me but gave me an 800 number to call and they helped me get connected. However, after I got connected, it was not the best and certain things I could not do and had to wait until I got somewhere else to send what I wanted to send. I thought the room was a bit overpriced. However, the next morning we walked to get breakfast (which was good ) and the property was very pretty with fountains and flowers and walkways. We asked at the desk how to get to the beach and it was only a nice 5 minute walk so the location was very good which is why i assume it was priced higher. It was close to a lot of shopping and places to eat. Overall, I would stay there again.

Thank you for your review. We do have a beautiful spot here on the island, shopping, restaurants, beach, biking, or even just walking. I will pass on your comments and I am sure the staff will be pleased. Again, thank you.

“Meh”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2013

We arrived late at night. The night person was very kind to us (which is very important to us when we travel), and we found the price to be very very good. We did find the property confusing to navigate, but it was late and we were quite tired after a long drive. In fact, we found all of Hilton Head very confusing to navigate at night! The property is quite large with some really nice features. We were a little taken aback by how nice it was outside. Anyway, the hotel room was average. We found it to be clean enough, and although the hotel is a little dated, it was okay. When we woke up in the morning we felt a little stuffy and the room was musty smelling. Maybe the A/C filter was dirty or something? All in all, we wouldn't choose this as our first pick hotel if we go back to HH, but for the price it was certainly hard to beat for the area.

“Pretty setting but shabby hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

We stayed here while we were visiting friends who had a condo rental. It was OK for a quick stay but the hotel was very shabby. It looked like it hadn't been painted for years and there were many things like doors that didn't close properly, entry scanners that didn't work, and dirt in the corners. It seemed out of place because the surrounding area was beautiful with ponds, trails, and pretty gardens. Breakfast was average at best. It was OK for an overnight stay and there aren't many other choices close by but the management really should renovate it!

“This property is very nice But”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

I stayed here for one night and I found the location to be wonderful. The front desk is separate from the rooms by about 2 blocks, maybe a little less. The pool area is really nice and they have plenty of space for hanging out with the kids or just sunning. The free breakfast is quite interesting. The breakfast room used to be an actual restaurant so I wonder why they don't do more, instead it is the usual fare of waffles and eggs and sausage. It is such a shame that Comfort doesn't upgrade there fare to match what other chains are doing. The actual hotel is sooo cool, it has under the hotel parking in case the weather is bad and has a small lobby by the elevators. The walkways to the rooms are all open are so you really get that tropical feel if the weather is tropical. The rooms are OK, and they all have a balcony which you can go out onto. They have an excellent lineup of channels on the tube and the property is well taken care of. This is one thing that made me upgrade my rating from average to very good. The hotel is located in a neighborhood and they have sidewalks and streets that you can walk or ride a bike. It has a really nice feel around the hotel. The problem I had is the folks staying below me decided they were going to go out on to their balcony to smoke and the smoke came up into my room even with the door closed it was sucked in by the heating unit. I called the front desk and the gentleman was so very nice and offered to move me but at 11PM I didn't feel like packing up and moving, so I just bared it. These folks obviously were ignorant of the fact that they shouldn't be smoking in a non-smoking hotel but then that's what you get sometimes when you spend over a hundred nights a year in hotels. One other thing is that since the hallways are bare floor whenever anyone walks around out there it is a little loud. The hotel was apologetic and did all they could to make it right ion there end, which I appreciate and also why I gave them a higher rating. I would probably stay here again as I noticed that they really work hard keeping up the property even though it is quite old. They even have an old water park right out past the pool that is all boarded up. I really liked the fact that I saw maintenance folks outside working hard to keep the grounds up, since it is a very pretty location and, well it almost reminded me of the old style Florida hotels on the beach, even though it is a few blocks from the beach. There is a Publix about a mile up the road from the hotel which is a great place to stock up and there are quite a few eating places nearby. If you can book in the off season then it really is quite reasonable.

Room Tip: I would recommend a floor higher up but that has it's problems if the folks downstairs don't...
