I stayed here for one night and I found the location to be wonderful. The front desk is separate from the rooms by about 2 blocks, maybe a little less. The pool area is really nice and they have plenty of space for hanging out with the kids or just sunning. The free breakfast is quite interesting. The breakfast room used to be an actual restaurant so I wonder why they don't do more, instead it is the usual fare of waffles and eggs and sausage. It is such a shame that Comfort doesn't upgrade there fare to match what other chains are doing. The actual hotel is sooo cool, it has under the hotel parking in case the weather is bad and has a small lobby by the elevators. The walkways to the rooms are all open are so you really get that tropical feel if the weather is tropical. The rooms are OK, and they all have a balcony which you can go out onto. They have an excellent lineup of channels on the tube and the property is well taken care of. This is one thing that made me upgrade my rating from average to very good. The hotel is located in a neighborhood and they have sidewalks and streets that you can walk or ride a bike. It has a really nice feel around the hotel. The problem I had is the folks staying below me decided they were going to go out on to their balcony to smoke and the smoke came up into my room even with the door closed it was sucked in by the heating unit. I called the front desk and the gentleman was so very nice and offered to move me but at 11PM I didn't feel like packing up and moving, so I just bared it. These folks obviously were ignorant of the fact that they shouldn't be smoking in a non-smoking hotel but then that's what you get sometimes when you spend over a hundred nights a year in hotels. One other thing is that since the hallways are bare floor whenever anyone walks around out there it is a little loud. The hotel was apologetic and did all they could to make it right ion there end, which I appreciate and also why I gave them a higher rating. I would probably stay here again as I noticed that they really work hard keeping up the property even though it is quite old. They even have an old water park right out past the pool that is all boarded up. I really liked the fact that I saw maintenance folks outside working hard to keep the grounds up, since it is a very pretty location and, well it almost reminded me of the old style Florida hotels on the beach, even though it is a few blocks from the beach. There is a Publix about a mile up the road from the hotel which is a great place to stock up and there are quite a few eating places nearby. If you can book in the off season then it really is quite reasonable.
Room Tip: I would recommend a floor higher up but that has it's problems if the folks downstairs don't...
