“Exactly what one would expect from a Disney owned property.”

This place is awesome. We thought it was the cleanest, well appointed place we've ever stayed and then learned they are doing a major remodel in Jan. Friendly staff. Clean and nicely landscaped. Rent bikes to get around and you will have a wonderful vacation. I would imagine HHI is busy in the summer! The beach isnt but 1.25 miles away. If you dont like it here, you wont be happy anywhere. Our accommodations are comfortable and absolutely beautiful.

This was our first trip to Hilton Head. We have a Disney VISA card and decided to use some of our reward dollars to give Hilton Head a try. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa for 3 nights and at $205/night, we felt it was very worth the money. Full kitchen, large master bedroom with jacuzzi tub and seperate shower, washer and dryer, second bedroom with 2 queen beds and bathroom. Outside our villa was a basketball court, corn hole boards, horseshoe pit, a hammock and a small grill. Very family oriented and fun!

We've stayed at other Disney locations and know that you can get a little "Mickey'd out". We never felt that way here. The decor is more like a cabin with a fishing theme. Don't waste time looking for any hidden Mickey's....we tried and couldn't find any. :)

The only negatives I have are mainly personal preference.
1. The sofa (w/sleeper) was a little stiff and not very comfortable for sitting of the evening to watch TV.
2. I can't sleep in complete silence. We tried to turn the air/furnance fan to "Run" instead of "Auto" and thought it would not kick off, but that didn't work. We have a white noise machine that we normally take on trips, but I forgot to pack it.
3. Housekeeping decided our coffee pot needed washed (in the dishwasher) after 1 use (I usually do this every 2-3 days at home). I also remove the top part of the coffee pot and place it on the top shelf, while putting the glass pot on the bottom shelf. She put the entire coffe pot on the bottom shelf. Let's just say, plastic creates an awful smell when melted from the heating element. No worries though, just open up the patio door and I still made coffee the next day (without the lid).

We would definately recommend this property for families and I hope we can go back someday and spend more time than 3 nights~

We love our Disney Vacation Club program. It was nice to have a Disney experience outside of Orlando. Take the Kayak tour. We had a two bedroom layout. Road bikes every day to the private beach as well as into the town of Hilton Head. Going back again July 2014

We stayed at this resort for 4 nights (Oct 20-24) in a 2 bedroom villa. My wife and I had our two kids (ages 13 and 9) with us, and our family enjoyed this resort. It was well taken care of, and we liked having the extra space (second bedroom with 2 queen beds, two bathrooms, laundry, full kitchen, etc.). We were in Building 26 and our deck overlooked the pool area, which was very convenient and my kids loved it. The weather was so-so, and the only negative was excessive noise from the villa above us. I would recommend a villa on the upper floor next time since ceiling seemed very thin, and we could hear them walking around all the time. However, we really enjoyed our first trip to Hilton Head, and I highly recommend this Disney property.

Room Tip: Get a room on the top floor to avoid noise from above

This is an attractive resort that is short on amenities for an island resort. It is definitely geared more to families with younger kids rather than couples and seniors. The pool blares too-loud music continuously. We are staying in a so-called studio room, which is little more than a standard hotel room ...albeit with a very nice private deck. The TV is unbelievably small -the size of a typical computer monitor. The bathroom has virtually no counter space for toiletries. Those expecting a Disney experience might be disappointed because it's not a theme/character type of place; rather a woodsy, lodgy kind of resort. Staff is very friendly and helpful, and I noticed that the lifeguards are unusually vigilant, which should be comforting for parents.

My family and I have been going to Disney Hilton Head resort for almost 20 years now. We've watched our son grow up in pictures taken on the beach and at the resort, We just came back from spending a week there the end of September and for whatever reason we're seeing it's age showing now. They keep it in great shape, but it looks exactly the same as it did 20 years ago. A refresh is needed for club members returning mnay times over the course of a membership. That being said any family visiting this resort will be more than happy with its location and facilities. Every activity available on the island is there for the asking at Disney. As an old returning visitor I can strongly suggest you ask for a second floor villa with a marsh view. And if noise is not part of the plan ask to NOT be put around the resort pool. Overall this resort lives up to the Disney reputation and meets expectations.

Room Tip: 2nd floor - marsh view - not around pool unless you enjoy noise late at night

Beautiful resort, rooms are large, clean and 5* as you would expect from Disney. If you are looking to see Mickey and have typical Disney experiences then this is not the place for you. It's quiet, serene and has a kick back and relax atmosphere. There is a pool and hot tub on site. The beach is a short bike ride away and there is a regular shuttle bus to the beach and beach house. There are no restaurants at the hotel, no bars, no coffee lounges. There is a place to eat at the Beach house selling sandwiches, burgers etc. there is a small store by the pool too for snacks. Within a 5 minute walk from the hotel are many good restaurants on the harbour. In my opinion the resort would benefit from a bar/ lounge area where you could get a drink or coffee, maybe listen to some music and gather with family, friends or other guests. I don't want to detract from the beauty of the place, the hospitality ( cast members give excellent service as is the Disney way) and the resort itself but I think it lacks atmosphere, I did enjoy my stay but don't think I would return.
