“A very relaxing vacation!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2013

I just stayed at the Disney Hilton Head resort with 5 children ages 6-16. We had a great time, it was truly a relaxing vacation with a little bit of something for everyone. The pool and activities were wonderful and the beach was breathtaking! The rooms were spacious, clean, and the view from our second floor deck was gorgeous! The highlight of our trip was the 2 hour dolphin tour, the dolphins swam right up to the boat and entertained us, and the captain was very knowledgeable about the area. The one complaint I have is that there is no place on site to eat after 5pm, I wish there were a dining option.

Room Tip: We were in Building 31, far from the main lodge, but close to the pool and mercantile, and had amazi...

Although we have been vacation club members for almost 20 years, we've never stayed here before. We were welcomed home to our 2-bedroom in the expected Disney way. We enjoyed walking the grounds and becomming acclimated to our new surroundings. The lifeguard was especially welcoming and ran into us later in the day inviting us to "Goofy Bingo" later that evening. These activities are one of the things we especially enjoy about our Disney experiences. We rented bikes and enjoyed the miles of bike paths throughout Hilton Head. The small store carried a limited number of DVC items and because my kids are used to WDW stores, were somewhat disapppointed although I felt it was adequate. The bonus to our trip for my daughter was discovering DoleWhip at the beach house! One disappointment was not having a character meet-n-greet (and my kids are 13-13-16) and have grown up on Disney and the regular encounters with the characters. This trip got us excited about our upcoming WDW visit this summer.

Room Tip: Look at layout of grounds if you prefer to be in the area of the pool or activities area to request...

My family stays at DISNEY RESORTalot due to we have the Disney timeshare and Hilton Head is our home place. We stayed there many times before buying the time share. Everytime we stay we have enjoyed many things, such as the great sea side beach house with pool and other things to do. I t worked great when we took my mom with us, she could sit in the glass closed in room and read while we enjoyed the pool. She was part of our vacation instead of staying in the room on site. She loved Disney Resort. It can be a little hard to find the speciality shops which are hidden behind the landscape. However after many years we get around great. Shops are at the end of the island in Harbor Town are really nice and we have eaten at several restaurants there that were very good. Don't forget to climb the lighthouse I think it is free. We are looking at retiring in Hilton Head in a few years. My child has so many happy memories at Disney such as the amores, crab fishing, children crafts, marshland adventure as he got older he went up to the teenage stage and went to the movies with the resort staff. It is really a safe place your child can have a individual experience vacation. He is 19 yrs old and waiting to go back and him and his dad do the kayak together. You can also ask about the islands sailing to Savannah we plan to take that trip one of our visits. Just relax and enjoy, my husband loves the relaxing vacation at Disney Hilton Head. Our family members have also enjoyed Disney Hilton Head resort.

Room Tip: Staying near the pool with preteen works great we let our son go down by himself. we could see the p...

This was a wonderfully laid back low key version of Disney. Just what i was looking for! Here, you get Disney customer service minus the characters. It's an opportunity to reconnect with your kids through board games & outdoor activities. I especially enjoyed the amenities that the villas afforded. Moms everywhere will appreciate the washer/dryer with daily refills on detergent, plentiful beach towels, high chair and playpen available without having to ask! Wish we could have stayed our entire vacation here vs. having to split our time at Sea Pines...

This resort is absolutely wonderful. There is a cute village feel. It's not a huge property so t is easy to walk and the marsh views from our room to the pool were so pretty! The food at the quick service restaurant were feat, and the cast members were all beyond friendly, accommodating, and full of that typical Dsney magic!
The rooms have a charming nautical beachhead theme to them, with little Disney charms hidden in the artwork. We stayed in a two bedroom villa, which was wonderful and had plenty of space for the extended family that we traveled with. Everything was clean and as expected. There were even balloons waiting in our room fr our anniversary celebration!
The hotel has a beach shuttle to this beach house across the road, which was wonderfully convenient. The pool there looked very tempting, but we opted to pass as the air was cold.
Overall, I would certain,y recommend this place, have zero complaints, and cannot wait to stay again!

Love love loved this hotel! They were very clean and friendly and didn't nickel-and-dime you the whole visit like most hotels/resorts (free parking, no staff fees, etc). There were so many optional activities (most free) to keep you - and your kids - busy all day. The pool is clean and they provide optional life jackets for all guests. The beach was farther away than I thought, but not far and everything else is so convienent. There's no Disney decor or characters, which I find to be a bonus (but if you're into Disney, you may not like that). The marsh is beautiful and watching the tides change and the sun set is simple, relaxing beauty. The trip was simply easy. The spacious room is fully equipped and comes with anything you'd need - except body/hand lotion. Bring your own! There are many other activities in the surrounding area if needed, as well as restaurants (there are breakfast/lunch dining options at the resort, but no dinner option available) and grocery stores within minutes. The staff was the friendliest I've ever seen. We went early- to mid-April and it was very empty and quiet and the weather was perfect in the mid-70s. Cannot wait to go back!!!

Room Tip: Only studio rooms are on ground level; all others are stair-access only. Ask to be by the Mercantile...

Spacious rooms that overlook water views, or lush tropical gardens, with one of the biggest decks I've ever had! We stayed in a one bedroom suite, complete with full kitchen, huge bathroom, washer/dryer. The front desk was small, laid back, but always helpful. You can rent bikes, or arrange for excursions like dolphin watching or kayaking right from the activities desk. Kids will love exploring the gardens, with the Disney topiaries, and tropical wildlife. Amazing birds here, too. And so close to so many things......we had an easy drive to Savannah, another one to Charleston, and the private beach club associated with the resort is beautiful. Loved this setting...a relaxing spot.

Room Tip: Higher floor affords better views of the river!
