“Quaint lovely Inn.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2012

The staff is, for the most part, very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was fine - a buffet of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns and biscuits or french toast. There were two types of cereal and several types of juices. Some pastries were also available as well as bread to be toasted. So, you could have a breakfast and it was filling. Of course, there was coffee and hot water for tea and oatmeal. In the afternoons, they offered wine (red or white) and beer (lite or regular) plus some cookies. Great location with two very good restaurants within walking distance - Frankie Bonz and Wise Guys. Frankie Bonz was our favorite. There are also some interesting shops and a Harris Teeter within walking distance.

Room Tip: The one problem we had was with the smoking areas. Our room was next to an area where there was a t...

We have stayed here several times and always enjoy the peaceful ambiance of the inn. The inn is within walking distance of several excellent restaurants for lunch and dinner. The breakfast at the inn has enough of a selection from eggs to cereals to satisfy most people. The staff is very helpful and professional. The room is fine (not overly large) but the bathroom is quite roomy. It's a nice break from the "cookie cutter" hotels that you can stay in anywhere.

Let me start by saying that I have been a flight attendant for almost 35 years and I know when you stay in hotels....NEVER leave ANYTHING of value....Monetary or Sentimental....out in the open or Not locked up in a Suitcase!!!!!!!!! My child who will be 13 on this Sunday, August 19th...left his watch (Sentimental value) in his back pack in a zipped up pocket...is now GONE!!! He couldn't "hook" it on a clip in his backpack, so he left it in the side compartment. I remember this and so does he!! (Neither one of us thought that a $50. watch would matter to anyone else but us). Funny, the housekeeper came and knocked on our room at 9 a.m., when most people on vacation want to sleep late and the "vibe" I got from her when I opened the door was not good...she exhibited a "guilty" feeling to me. Listen to your gut. I gave it to my son 2 years ago for Christmas and it was only $50.00. My child and I are both sentimental (as we lost his twin sister) and I tried to encourage him while listening to him cry for the last almost two hours. I stayed here several years ago and was impressed by everyone else and the courtesy and friendliness both times. Its sad a "simple" experience can ruin the Entire Experience...I'll replace it, but he's a kid and when my child is hurt....I don't forget...

Just stayed there near the 4th of July vacation. I had read reviews both good and bad. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice, but, I could see why people thought they were dirty. they could do a better job vacuuming in corners and dusting lamp shades. The bathrooms were nice and big, which was nice. The grounds are small, and breakfast outside is nice, but, the food is nothing to write home about (I couldn't believe people said it was outstanding). Didn't even touch the small lap pool, but, the nearby beach was great (and they were helpful navigating us there). we missed the happy hour, so, can't comment.

Our sheets were clean and so was the room. It was a bit small for us (fam of 3) should have gotten a king bed. Nice decor and beautiful landscape. Our son liked the pool, this place was awesome!! Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuit and sausage gravy ( my fav) potatoes, pasties, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt with granola. 4 different juices, we were very pleased. We will be back. :)

We stayed for a night away and it was more than we could ask for. Because it was in the middle of the week, the inn was not completely booked and we were upgraded to a new room for free. The staff was friendly and professional, and the room was very clean and picturesque. I would most certainly stay again.

The Inn was in a quiet area with nice gardens, trees and within walking distance of several eating establishments. Their breakfast was very good and not just a sweet roll and coffee, full fare. In the afternoon from 5:00 to 7:00 they have several wines for you to try along with beer. You can sit inside in the airconditioned areas or on the patio. There is a pool and hot tub for relaxing. The room was clean and all we needed.
We did not use the spa but it is also available with several different treatments for those needing special attention after a long day at the beach or a long drive from your home.
The only thing they did not do one day was to clean the coffee pot in the room and the cups.
Large garden tub with jets in the bath and a spacious shower. Bed in our room was a king with lots of pillows.
The inn is registered with the "Small Luxury Hotels of the World".
Great place to just relax, quite and you can walk a couple blocks for your dinner.

Room Tip: There are three floors to the Inn so ask for first floor near the pool, only three in that area.
