“Our room was not nice but the resort is old but nice.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

We stayed in Ocean Villa's C242. Our room had not been updated in probably 20+ years. The plug in outlets wouldn't hold my curing iron plug in. The toilet seat was at least 10yrs old and broken. The room was not very clean. My youngest child had black knees' from crawling on the floor the 1st day we were there. Our room was 675.00 for a week. I guess you get what you pay for. The resort is older but it is very clean. Has a wonderful pool. The pool is right on the beach. I would stay at beach and tennis again but not in the same villa. Make sure you are getting a room that has been updated. My 6yr old was begging to go home after the 1st night b/c our room "scared" him.

Room Tip: Do not rent C242 in Ocean Villa's unless you prefer to step back to 1975.

Stayed here for 6 nights around Memorial Day. Stayed in building C, very close to pool and beach. Had friends staying there in another room during same time. As per prior reviews, each room is very different when it comes to decor and furnishings. Each room is laid out in a similar fashion, with a master bedroom and bunk beds. Would not recommend more than 4 to a room. Our room had nice kitchen appliances, carpet throughout and an older TV and sofa. Our friends' room had tile, older appliances and newer TV. There were several items in the room that needed maintenance, but nothing that really bothered our stay. Both rooms were definitely dated and in need of updating. I would say the room itself was comparable to a motel 6.

If you want to spend lots of time at the beach, you absolutely can't beat the location. We walked to the beach each day in less than 5 minutes. The pool was large and quite nice. The beach bar was very convenient with very good food and service. Overall, the grounds were well maintained and nice looking.

We stayed here because of the location and a deal on Orbitz and had a very good time. All things equal, would probably stay somewhere else next time if the price was close. This place is totally fine as long as you understand what you are getting. It is not a "resort" and the location needs to be your main interest.

The wife and I stayed here for Memorial Day weekend 2013 and it was an overall good stay. Family oriented resort that is situated right on the ocean. We booked the "Oceanview" room for a couple extra $$/night and the view is thoroughly disappointing. Our room looked out over the parking lot and across to another building. The room was nice/well-kept and had a mini kitchen with full size fridge. I would recommend bringing your own utensils (pots, spatulas, etc) if possible. The room did have everything but they were a fairly sad state of affairs. The rooms are just a few steps from the beach and there is grocery/drug/liquor stores within a mile or two to get what you need. Do not fall for the Oceanview but overall a good value for relaxing at the ocean.

This condo was very nice....could have used a little updating...website could have mentioned what else we needed to bring (extra dish soap). But overall, it was very comfortable and had easy access to the beach. The pools and child playground were nice too. If I had to say anything 'bad' - well, the internet did not work well. But we would definitely return to this resort! The staff were friendly and very helpful.

Room Tip: Bring a small bottle of dish soap or extra dishwashing powder. Don't expect the internet to be...

My family found HHB&T online through vrbo.com. We have stayed there regularly over the past 11 years. You need to know that these villas are old. They were most likely built in the 80's and most have been remodeled more than once. You'll pay more for the updated ones and Admiral's Row. We personally prefer buildings B and C. This is the best deal on the island that is oceanfront. if you can put up with slight imperfections (creaky floors, not soundproof walls, older finishings in certain units...) to save money, this place is for you. We like to rent bikes for the week and use the island bike paths to ride everywhere. My husband and son love to golf at the nearby courses. It is also fun to take the ferry to Savanna for a day in the city.

Room Tip: We like the ground floor for convience, but the third floor will be quieter and give the best views...

I was a little apprehensive at first because we got such a good rate. But the room was perfect. Just as described. Clean, nicely decorated and with a slight view of the ocean. We stayed in room 306. It was quiet, and had everything we need for an extended stay.
We had no interaction with the hotel staff other than at check in and check out. But they were very pleasant both times.
We arrived on a Tuesday afternoon and left on a Friday. Due to this and it being the first of May, the hotel was very quiet.
It was a short walk to the beach even though we were at the far end of the hotel.
The only disappointing part of the entire trip was eating at Jamaica Joe's by the pool. The "hamburger" was mystery meat. I was unable to eat after the first bite. I ate the fry's and told my girlfriend I was just not hungry. I did not want to put a damper on the day by griping about the food.
And other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Hilton Head.

We stayed here most recently in October 2012. First, people must understand that all condos are privately owned, so furnishings and the condition of the condo can vary widely from one owner to the next. We have personally found that renting directly from the owner is usually preferable, as you can view all their photos and read reviews from that individual unit. We found a great one bedroom with a direct ocean view on Admiral's row for less than $100/night. The condo had lovely furnishings and was impeccably cleaned. The view was breathtaking, as good or better than the view we have had at other HHI hotels for $300+/night. It would have been cramped for more than 2 people, as the one bedroom is only about 500-600 square feet. If someone is traveling with one or two small children it would probably still have been a manageable size.

HHBT has a great mid-island location, offering excellent proximity to dozens of quality restaurants. The beach access here is some of the best, as it is not as densely populated as the Coligny area. HHBT has the island's largest oceanfront pool, and those staying on Admiral's Row have another smaller pool that they can utilize as well. Laundry facilities are conveniently located on each floor, as most units do not have W/D. There are two onsite restaurants/bars (the sports bar is open until 2 AM!!!), a pool bar, and some seriously tasty pizza available for delivery or dine in. We will definitely stay here again, and may be converts from the high end hotels we have stayed at previously.
