We got in late on Tuesday and Jason was on duty. He smiled brightly as we walked in and checked us in. Couldn't have been more smooth and informative. Made our stay here extra special. We received all kinds of info of special things to do while on hilton head. The tour to Daufuskie island which he recommended is a must!

I guess that shouldn't be a surprise, but you pretty much are just paying for the location. The beach is nice and the hotel is in good condition, but there is really nothing special about the rooms. The only thing we really enjoyed about the room was the balcony. Everything else was pretty unremarkable. The service was OK, but again, unremarkable, and maybe not what I've come to expect from a Westin.

Thank you for sharing your perspective on your recent stay at The Westin. We appreciate your comment that our location and beach is very nice, our resort is in good condition, and that you enjoyed your guest room balcony. We recently had a 30 million dollar renovation which included our guest rooms/bathrooms and resort facility being completely renovated in a new and sophisticated coastal chic decor which most guests comment is very attractive and comfortable. I was disappointed that we did not meet your decor expectations and also that you did not experience our usual personal and instinctive service for which we are known. I do hope that you will return in the future so we may meet and exceed all your expectations for a renewing stay at that time.

We stayed here last July as an alternative to our usual Europe trip, and I was worried that we might be disappointed. First of all, although Hilton Head Island is near Myrtle Beach, and not too far from Virginia Beach, it is an altogether different experience. The beach here goes on for miles but feels extremely natural and peaceful as there is a residential beach area to the left of the hotel. Because of the sand bars, the ocean is very calm and shallow, and although there were still jelly fish, they were not as bad as on the open Atlantic beaches. The feeling of the island and this hotel is complete relaxation and tranquility. From the front desk, to beach and restaurant service, everyone we encountered was helpful and polite, and really interested in making our stay wonderful. The rooms had very comfortable beds, the lobby is beautiful, and we enjoyed the indoor historical mini-museum. The chairs by the pool are incredibly comfortable. If I have anything at all to suggest is more chairs which are comfortable on the beach itself; as well as more selections at the restaurants for dinner. There is a lot of competition from outstanding restaurants all over Hilton Head, but they strangely close quite early in the evening. As the hotel's restaurants stay open later, they need to develop a wider menu of Southern specialties.
We really enjoyed this hotel and look forward to coming back soon.

I was really looking forward to our 3 nights here as part of our flydrive and I wasn't disappointed. We had booked an Ocean View and got upgraded I think to Premium Ocean View in the North Tower and what a lovely room we had - right on the front overlooking the beach. We had a large balcony to complement our large room with king bed, safe, coffee-machine, fridge and huge bathroom with his and hers sinks, large shower and bath. The room was spotless and we ahd great sleep in what was a fabulously comfy bed.
The resort was beautiful and I must compliment the staff - many of whom were on internships from the UK!! It was very pleasant to sit in the bar overlooking the pools or indeed to sit in the morning sunshine with a take out from the lobby café. We had good weather whilst we were there so did little other than lie in the sun.
I think there are 3 pools - plenty of sun loungers, cabanas if you wish and also a large Jacuzzi pool. there is also a spa which we didn't visit. We were told the resort was full over the weekend but it didn't feel like it was (very few children though) and there were never issues re loungers or tables.
For breakfast we used the lobby café and we ate out for 2 nights - walking to Carrabas - about a 30 min walk and in the dark so a torch is useful! Anywhere else necessitates driving.
We also ate at Oceans one night - it was pretty good although the room lacked a bit of atmosphere but the food and service was very good. Overall the resort felt a little pricey - but then it was very convenient to stay put - probably general idea of a resort! There is also the $20 resort fee per room per night.
overall a lovely spot - the beach is beautiful - great service, comfort and facilities meant we had an excellent 3 night stay and would happily return.

We stayed here for our mini-moon this past June. My husband and I made the best of it but there were several things that happened which may lead us to try a different hotel if we go to Hilton Head again.
First, the good things: The staff at the bar, restaurants, and poolside staff were wonderful. The pools are all refreshing and relaxing. The beach is beautiful and clean. The Spa is LOVELY! We would definitely recommend anyone to go to the spa, and we would certainly come back for that even if we were staying somewhere else.
The clothing lending program was also a huge plus- I was able to pack less clothes and use the New Balance clothes that they have on hand as well as socks for working out every day. The running trails were also fantastic.

The Not so Good: When we checked in I had already paid for a room upgrade to a balcony ocean/pool view. I informed the person who checked us in that it was our honeymoon so could they please make sure it is the nice view we had already reserved? She assured that it was. When we got to our room, we found our view to be mostly of a concrete wall, on a low floor and could not even look at the pool much less the ocean. Also we went to put some of our wedding cake in the refrigerator and found it had not been cleaned out by the staff, and the bathroom had not been re-stocked with soap and shampoo. I went downstairs and politely asked for another room, noting that it was not the view we had reserved. They re-assigned us to a different room. The next room we discovered that the tub drained was completely clogged. We called down early in the morning and asked them to please fix it as soon as possible. We went out all day, came back and found that nothing had been done. I called again, and they said they would send someone right up, they did not come for another hour. They also didn't send anyone to clean up the tub after the plumber had done his work so I had to wash it out myself. When the staff finally came to clean it, they left their cleaning products in the bathroom. We also had called down and asked for a bucket of ice for champagne which never arrived.
The positive ending is that the hotel did refund us for one night's stay, so they did try to make up for all of the "oops" things that had happened. None of these things were disastrous but when you are on your honeymoon you don't want to be constantly calling down to the front desk because of mishaps, you want to relax and have a good time. The spa is so amazing that I hope that the hotel has re-trained some of their staff to make sure things like this don't happen because it is a very beautiful hotel and we did enjoy the outside activities.

I am very sorry that your original guest room view did not meet your expectations, and I was glad the staff was able to provide a room with a better view. However, I am very sorry for the inconvenience of the bathtub drain not functioning properly and that this was not quickly remedied in a professional manner per our usual high standards. We hope that you will return in the future so we may meet and exceed all your expectations at that time.

The resort is a community all its own. There are three separate pool areas. The workout facilities are excellent including several treadmills, cycles, and machine weights. There is even a limited selection of hand weights. Beach access is easy, with a lot of space. There are plenty of bike trails. The staff are all welcoming and courteous.

The Westin on Hilton Head is fantastic. We've never had better service. Jason at check-in made us feel right at home and was incredibly helpful getting us settled in. He even sent cookies and milk to the room! James, our waiter in the on-site restaurant, was as good a server as you will find. Very well trained. The grounds are immaculate and spectacular in their beauty. The beach is to die for! We will always make this "our spot" on Hilton Head.
