“Fun for Preschoolers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2011 via mobile

My 2 & 4 year olds had a great time playing here. It was not crowded and the kids played for hours. It is smaller than other Children's Museums we have been to but it was also cheaper. It was a great break from the beach. We would go again.

“Save for a rainy or tired of going to the beach kinda day”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2011

Like other reviewers, expected it to be a little bigger and more "organized" since it calls itself a museum. It was spacious though some areas kinda blended into the others making it a bit confusing. The adult entrance fee is ridiculous therefore I think even if you really enjoyed your time and wanted to go back, the fee would deter you. Thankfully found a coupon in one of those travel guides for BOGO. Our son was initially hesitant to play with stuff (he's 2) but eventually warmed up. He especially liked the upstairs with the craft area and train table. Downstairs there's a play construction site, pirate ship, airplane, and a big scribble board...unfortunately none of the markers worked! We went there for an advertised craft session making a ceramic plate only to find out that it was only in the am for a limited time. Therefore piece of advice, call ahead if there is something you are particularly interested in. All in all would probably go back but would try to spend more time there since adults have to pay, we made the mistake of going before our child had a nap.

“Excellent--so much fun!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2011

My son had an amazing time here---and spent time as a pilot, construction worker, pirate and veterinarian all in one day. Thank you so much--we will plan our return visit!

“It was a preschool not a museum”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2011

This place was not suitable for teenagers or 8 yr olds. They charge for adults and teens and there is nothing at ALL for them to do. Do not waste your money unless your child would like to do arts and crafts. Very booring and nothing at all the should call this place a museum.

“Why do adults have to pay?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2011

Took our grandsons to "The Sandbox" while on vacation in June. It was very hard to find, cause we were looking for a big place. When you think "Museum" you think big. I am a preschool teacher & "The Sandbox" is a big preschool room. I would not recommend children over 5-6. Anyway, our grandsons loved the arts & crafts area.
We didn't see why adults had to pay...???
