My husband and I decided to visit the Sea Pines Forest Preserve while vacationing on Hilton Head Island in October, 2012. It was a beautiful, quiet place, and not busy the day we were there. We saw at least a dozen alligators the day we were there, along with several turtles and different types of birds. We're from NY, so it was a great experience to see the different plants and wildlife. The preserve itself is free, but it does cost $5 to get into the Sea Pines area, so be prepared for that. They give you a full day pass for Sea Pines, so I definitely recommend checking out some different places in that area while you're there! Great experience overall, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling to Hilton Head!
