Our family has been here a few times over the years while visiting Fripp and Harbor Islands, with our most recent trip being a couple weeks ago.
We went with a large group at the beginning of the dinner hour (5:15 or so) and had good service on a Friday night. In the past it has been quite slow (maybe the 5 kids under age 6 helped speed things up to get us out of there haha!) Our group chose to go there thinking that there would be a decent selection for those that don't love seafood, but this wasn't the case - there essentially was a chicken and a token steak on the menu. I had a seafood pasta dish that was very good and my husband's steak was excellent & cooked as it was supposed to be. The kids menu was as expected with typical kids food. The corn bread they served was amazing.
One member of our party asked specifically if their crab cakes were made with onions (due to food allergies). The server checked with the kitchen, replied with "No" but it was quickly apparent that there were onions or onion powder somewhere in the recipe as they were sick after eating them.
Cleanliness is not a huge strong suit, especially considering the amount of presumably dirty dollar bills that hang throughout the restaurant. It is definitely a "greasy spoon" type of place. In general, our experience is that service is generally slower in that area than what we are used to at home.
