“Enjoyed it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012 via mobile

Cafeteria style eating/down home cooking/family style seating. Good, not great, but the friendly staff makes the real difference.

“Tasty, home cooking”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2012 via mobile

A small, simple place with home cooking like Grandma used to make! The hours of operation are limited, but if you can catch it when it is open, then you're in for a treat!

“Love it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2012

I've been a patron of Cateran's for years. It's always the same - the fried chicken, stringy ham, mashed potatoes, macaroni, fried okra, and strawberry shortcake are always good. The sweet tea is actually sweet. It's simply southern food done right. I never leave disappointed.

“Consistently Good Food at good prices”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2012

At Cateran's you can always depend on the food being excellent. The fried chicken and catfish are always delicious. Service could not be better. Sides are very good. Would recommend this restaurant for good southern food at good prices.

“Cheap Eats, Home Cooking (Sort Of)”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2011

I have been a patron of Cateran's for many years. It is a stand in line, go down the line, serve yourself, eat all you want of meats and vegetables kind of place. More of a locals hangout. It is a decent standby kind of place, if you cant think of where to go, but would like a meal. The main meat is fried chicken. There is usually a second, and maybe even a third meat. Vegetables may include mac and cheese, beans, peas, mashed potatoes, greens, fried okra and others. Coffee, tea or water only. There is also a tiny salad bar. You'll get very full, and two people will get out of there for well under 20 bucks. If you go on Saturday, get there at either 4:30pm, or 6:30pm. They are open most weekdays for lunch and dinner, but not every day. Want atmosphere? Go somewhere else.
