Description: What constitutes "New South Flavors?" For us, it is begins with reverence for those time-honored Southern dishes. Served up by wonderful home cooks for years. We respect the freshness, the flavors and the food itself. But we like to jazz it up a little, add something deliciously unexpected to delight your palate. Our interpretation of traditional Southern fare is creative, inventive and satisfyingly scrumptious. Cheers to New South Flavor!

“Yummy Biscuits, Excellent Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

This was second time eating @ Tupelos; once for breakfast & once for lunch. The biscuits are complimentary and served with honey or homemade jam--yummy. Breakfast was very good and the portions are very good, especially the pancakes. Lunch was again delicious, sizable & great value for the price. Menu offers a good variety. Service was great for lunch as I arrived ahead of the crowd. Breakfast service was not as good due to the volume of people being served and waiting for a table. Try to arrive before the rush times. Wait staff was very courteous.

“Good Regional Cuisine, Nice Atmosphere in Downtown Greenville”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

We liked Tupelo Honey and were glad they now take reservations (but only for groups of eight or more). They have a good selection of regional craft beers and some decent wines, and the menu itself was varied and broad. Those in our party had everything from sandwiches to full entrees, and each enjoyed it. The sides were good: fried green tomatoes, sweet potato fries, and other local items. Service was good, but nothing to write home about. Although the restaurant is at 1 North Main Street, it is at the back of the building at that address. I you're looking for it from the street you may miss it. Downtown Greenville is fun, and you'll find the area a great place to walk around before or after dinner at Tupelo Honey Cafe.

“Absolutely delicious!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013 via mobile

Got the meatloaf... And it has to be the best in the upstate hands down! My wife had breakfast with the chicken and biscuits and luckily I got to eat some of that, she couldn't eat it all.
Our waitress was great and the food came out very quick. You must try this place.

“Totally different experience than Asheville”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

We were so excited that Greenville got this restaurant. We went for dinner and I had the garlic chicken. It was so rubbery I could hardly chew it. I just ate my sides and was ready to go. It even smelled strange. My husband, who is MUCH less carb-conscious than me, got the shrimp and grits and while they were okay, they were nothing special. The service was so-so. The drinks were good. All in all, it wasn't worth the wait for us (both in line to get in and the months it took for it to open up downtown.) I will be curious to see how it fares in the shadows of Soby's, American Grocery and Sassafrass if it is no better than it was that night. Hopefully they were just having an "off" night.....?

“Great Food, Great Service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

Tupelo Honey has become one of our favorite restaurants! They always have it together and the food is always delicious. They give wonderful free biscuits and homemade jam to start your meal. Breakfast is available anytime. We have tried several different things and they are all wonderful. For a special treat, sit at the chefs bar and watch the action in the kitchen. The head chef is super friendly and will answer questions and talk with you. They get packed quick so go in the off times to avoid the crowds. Also on the weekend and after 6:00 there is free parking in the Richardson Street Garage that is behind this restaurant. It makes for easy parking without hunting for a space.
