Owner description: The Shoeless Joe Jackson Museum is located in the beautiful West End of Greenville, SC. When you come to visit the museum, you will actually be visiting the home that Shoeless Joe Jackson lived in with his wife, Kate, until his death in 1951. In 2006, the home of Joe Jackson was dismantled, moved three miles, and reassembled on Field Street in the historic West End of Greenville, SC, directly across the street from Fluor Field, home the Greenville Drive, a minor-league division of the Boston Red Sox. In July 2007, the house was deeded to the Shoeless Joe Jackson Museum and Baseball Library foundation. On June 21, 2008, fans celebrated the dedication and grand opening of the museum! The not-for-profit museum displays records, artifacts, photographs, film and other items of interest associated with the historic life and baseball career of Shoeless Joe Jackson. A book collection related to baseball and its role in American culture is housed in Joe's former trophy room. Donations of books have been made by baseball enthusiasts from across America. The house number is 356, a reminder that Joe’s lifetime batting average was .356, the third highest in baseball history after Ty Cobb and Rogers Hornsby. The museum is FREE to all and there is also free on-site parking behind the museum! We also have a gift shop that accepts cash only. Come to see us & hang out at Shoeless Joe's house for a while! Our all-volunteer staff would love to give you a tour! Our passion is to educate old and new fans alike about one of the greatest baseball players in history!

“Lots of Information/Memorabilia in a Small Area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2014

My wife and i travelled to Greenville for a weekend getaway and decided to pay the Joe Jackson Museum a visit. We were greeted by a host upon entry and were then given a thorough personal 15 minute welcome with many tidbits of the life of Shoeless Joe Jackson. We were very pleased with the knowledge and friendly manner of the Host. We then spent the next 15-30 minutes going through the small house gazing at the vast array of Joe Jackson information andf memorabilia. We had a great time!

“What a pleasant surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2014

Great little museum if you are a baseball fan. Located within walking distance of downtown Greenville, there was lots to see in Shoeless Joe's former home now museum. It's only open on Saturdays so plan accordingly. Spent about 45 minutes there. Very interesting and best of all, FREE!

“Baseball History”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2014

Ok you have to be a Baseball history nut to enjoy this as much as I did. Its a 900 square foot house that Shoeless Joe Jackson lived in, that now is home to pictures, uniforms, bats, gloves and baseball cards. You can see everything in 10 minuets and it is free. If you are a baseball history buff you will spend hours like I did. It is a all volunteer staff from the local area that knows where he grew up, got married and where he rest now. If you have seen the movie Eight Men Out, Joe Jackson was the best player on the Chicago White Sox team and maybe in all of baseball when he was banned from the game for throwing the World Series. In that series he set the record for the most hits, had the most home runs, the highest batting avg., and made no errors. This is real baseball history.

“Nice, small museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

The creators of this compact museum in Joe Jackson's former home have done a nice job of telling Jackson's story. It's a nostalgic setting and there's more baseball information available than one can fully appreciate in one visit. I'll be going back.

“Shoeless Joe Jackson....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

the museum was small and quaint and had some great information. I did not realize he was from Greenville! The museum was recommended to me and I am glad I went. The location is easy to get to as well, right off Main St, downtown Greenville.
