“Paradise for walkers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2012

This is such a wonderful addition to the Greenville area. Many miles of walking incorporated in a lovely scenic setting. Bike path and walking path are wide enough to acomodate both

“Give the swamp rabbit a try!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2012

Great system of old train tracks converted into a wonderful system of trails for biking or a run. Some sections are paved and others also include a softer recycled rubber running lane. Great way to enjoy nature, and get some exercise! It is being expanded at this time to include several more miles of trails!

“Excellent for family outing.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2011

We rented bikes in Greenville, and except for the actual walk to the trail, it was perfect for a fall day outing. Be careful, there are streets to maneuver at beginning, if with small children, you may want to walk bike for awhile. Can't wait to go back and explore some more.

“Fabulous place to go running or walking (and at times, biking)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2011

The Swamp Rabbit Trail runs from Cleveland Park through downtown Greenville's Falls' Park and out to Traveler's Rest. On weekends you will find it full of pedestrian and bike traffic. There are 2 "squishy" rubberized parts of the trail specifically for foot traffic. At times it can be busy, so it's important to be mindful of those around you - for example, walking side by side may not be possible at times. I believe there are bike rentals somewhere near the Main St. intersection. I run with a group every Saturday morning (and have done so for over a year) and really enjoy the ability to run on a well maintained path with minimal interaction with vehicles. This is a rails to trails path (they paved over an old railway). I'm not 100% how long it is, but I've gone at least 10 miles out (which makes it a great place to train for distance running events!)

It is not lit and the only bathrooms and water fountains are close to downtown. I usually see a police officer on a motorcycle on my Saturday morning runs and occasionally on my Sunday morning rides.

If you are in Greenville and want to get out and exercise in nature, or just enjoy a nice walk, I highly recommend the Swamp Rabbit Trail
