“Overnight in Greenville”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2012

Chose this because of reviews on trip advisor and were happy with our choice. Location was amazing as tons of restaurants in both directions. Get Saturday night reservations! Downtown Greenville is amazing and busy and hopping at night! Room was nothing spectacular..although we did request and get a treadmill in our "fitness room" and was a bonus to not have to head to the downstairs gym. Linens and pillows on bed were also great....a ton of pillows of all sizes.
Bathroom amenities-normal.

We'd stay again because of location! Bellmen extremely helpful with directions and valet!

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights this past weekend. It's in a wonderful location right on the main road near shops, restaurants (definitely try "The Trappe Door") and the theatre. Staff was accommodating and the hotel was very clean. We were in a corner room on the 9th floor which was nice and cozy, almost like a little flat. My only complaint would be that our room didn't get serviced during the day on Saturday. This usually wouldn't be a problem but we had breakfast in the room that morning and none of that was taken out - also, we didn't get a new breakfast card for the following day so we just decided to eat elsewhere rather than complain.

Overall, this is probably the best play to stay during a trip to downtown Greenville!

Room Tip: The higher the floor the better view!

I stayed here after comparing it to the new Hampton Inn in the Reedy Riverfront development complex downtown, because it was around the same price and had 4 diamonds. I asked for (and got) a room overlooking the courtyard, which is the front of the hotel, but it was not noisy. As I looked out my hotel room onto the street below, I could imagine the famous blues players from the 1920's that played along this area of Main Street.
The lobby is wonderful in its gleaming marble and brass. It had a piano player starting at 5:30, a lovely lounge where I unfortunately did not linger, and a dramatic restaurant (Spoonbread) where I did not eat.
Staff are courteous and efficient. Valet parking was a deal at $15 or you can park it yourself in the adjacent garage (don't know the cost of that but there is one).
The room was clean and modern, with conveniences you expect (an iPod dock alarm clock, free wifi in room) for a decent business or 4-diamond hotel. Comfortable pillows of various dimensions covered the bed. My only complaint the shower's water temperature was unstable. The plush robe and starbucks coffee maker made up for it.
I will stay here again. Next time I'll make sure I go to the lounge and restaurant!

Room Tip: Ask for one overlooking the courtyard, for a view of Main Street. It's not noisy.

My wife and I stayed at the Westing Poinsett during a business trip to Greenville. The hotel is in an old, but well taken care of building right near the end of Main Street (near the Peace Center and the river park area).

The room was a bit small, owing to the age and construction of the building. The appointments were first rate, however. The bed was amazingly comfortable (this shouldn't be something you have to say but, unfortunately, many hotel beds are sub-par) and the staff was very helpful, both at checkin and during our stay. The hotel is close to at least 20 restaurants (within walking distance) and has a nice little cafe on the first floor.

We love old buildings so the Westin was perfect for us. We would go back again without hesitation.

My family and I were in Greenville taking my daughter on a college trip to Furman University. The hotel is right in the middle of downtown. Rooms were very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The staff was outstanding and very attentive. Can't wait to go back!!!!

My friend was visiting from out of state, I got us tickets to the Peace Center and wanted to show her Main St. Nightlife. I thought the Westin would be perfect location, and I was right. 2 blocks from PC, many very nice rest. to eat. After the ballet we visited a jazz club, and a few other hot spots all within 5 blocks. We did use the Reedy River Rickashaw service to the jazz club, 5 blocks in 5 inch heels, it was well worth the $$. But staying at Westin you would not really need any transportation ( i think they do offer airport shuttles)

Upon arrival I did choose to use Valet and Bellhop, if you dont mind spending the extra $$, its well worth it. When we got to our corner room over looking Main St. We only had one robe, I called guest services and within 5 mins we were brought an extra robe. We were able to sit on the desk looking out the window watching traffic and people sipping on wine and cheese. A great weekend we will always remember, thanks to the Westin for the added touches making us feel like Queens!!

We stayed at the hotel as part of a wedding group last weekend. The hotel is nicely appointed in the lobby and public areas. The rooms were a bit small. The fitness center is well stocked and had plenty of equipment ot choose from.
If you self park ($6 vs $15 for valet), unload your luggage first. You have two sets of stairs (5 or 6 steps) in between the parking garage and the rear hotel entrance.
The hotel is on Main Street so you can easily walk to bars, shops and restaurants. Nose Dive is a gastropub connected to the hotel on the main level. They had a DJ playing the night that we went and we had a great time.
