I've visited Georgetown a few times over the years and with each visit, the quality of restaurants in town seem to increase. This is certainly the case with Portofino, which is a tremendous asset to downtown Georgetown and the Harbor Walk.
My fiancee and I had dinner at Portofino recently. She had an eggplant parmesan dish cooked to near perfection and I had a delicious linguini with meatballs dish. We also ordered an interesting take on bruschetta for antipasti and were pleasantly surprised with that as well.
Our server was new and inexperienced, but was still pleasant and didn't royally screw up. The ambiance was really nice and we had a nice window view of the river. The prices were reasonable and in-line for a decent Italian dinner.
