We are so glad we found Mansfield Plantation. We had the opportunity to stay for a couple of days and found this to be a very beautiful and authentic plantation. You can just imagine yourself living there long ago. Although you feel you have walked back in time, the amenties provided are nice enough to make you comfortable.

The grounds are beautiful and endless. You pretty much have the place to yourself to roam about or to sit and soak it all in. It is large enough for all the guests to spread out and do their own thing. If you love nature, you will love Mansfield.

The location is also fairly close to many activities in the area. We suggest Brookgreen Gardens and Huntington Beach State Park to see Atalaya, the marsh and the beach. These two sites tie together and are a must see. Litchfield, Pawleys Island, Murrell's Inlet and Myrtle Beach are also not far away if you venture out of Georgetown (15 to a 30 minute easy drive).

We are thankful that the owners of Mansfield offer the opportunity to others so that they can experience such a beautiful place. We certainly won't forget our trip and hope to visit again in the future.

We have gone every year since 2005 and every time we go back we are amazed at the progress and how popular Mansfield is becoming. Kathryn is always so kind and remembers us by name, and our dogs are becoming ever-familiar with the property. This is the absolute most authentic antebellum bed and breakfast in the country, at least from what my wife and I have seen. We go every year to step away from everything and enjoy miles and miles of unspoiled views.

Others have described Mansfield Plantation perfectly. It is beyond beautiful. Wish we had stayed more than one night.

Went to mansfield for my wifes birthday , we had a great time very nice property . The grounds where very well maintained the rooms where great with nice beds, very well done. Kathryn the inn keeper could not have been better. The breakfast and company were outstanding. We are sure to return in the spring. It was like living on your own wonderful plantation.Thank you to Kathryn and the owner John for a great time.

While looking for a pet friendly hotel in SC we found this place on the internet. This Bed and Breakfast does not only allow dogs, they welcome dogs. My partner and I, with our Dachshund, stayed here from Dec 23 to 28. The room was well appointed, fully equipped, clean, comfortable and spacious. The plantation ground is good for hiking, swinging on a swing or hammock, bicycling or kayaking. There are enough things to do. Breakfast is always a good reason for getting up in the morning. Kathryn Green, the Inn-keeper, is a gem. Our city dog loved exploring the ground and we are sure he would love to go back. We do too.
