“Casual Fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

You can't beat two open-air bars each with live music playing at opposite ends of the pier. Casual atmosphere, beautiful views and friendly people. Nice way to spend the evening with a date, your family or your girlfriends. Food is snack bar quality so best to eat dinner before you get there. There's also an arcade to keep the kids busy.

“Exciting shark, jellyfish, and dolphin sightings!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

We enjoyed the stroll down the pier watching others catch fish after fish. When we found a spot to peek over the railing we were amazed to see black-tipped reef sharks and jellyfish. But the best was watching a pod of dolphins pass by! What a sight! It is family friendly until the two bars open up. We are not a part of the nightlife crowd so we visited before sundown.

“Not sure what the big deal is...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

We had several folks tell us that going to the Garden City Pier is a MUST! So this trip we ventured out to Garden City. We were disappointed. Not knowing what to expect, we ventured up the steps to the arcade. Wow - it smelled and was disgusting! We walked out to the pier and enjoyed some of the music but we did not stay long. We got sucked in to allowing our children to get the overpriced hair wraps that ended up costing over $50!!! BEWARE!!!! Now we can say Been There Done That. We don't ever plan on going back. It looked dirty from one end to the other.

“An interesting mix of fish and gaming machines”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

The pros:
No fee to get in.
Cold beer for those of you over 21.
Get to see some interesting fish hauled in by the anglers at the end of the pier.
Decent views of the beach.

The cons:
Dirty.
Game room/store smelled like a bowling alley in need of a cleaning.

Perhaps I expected to much, but the restaurant/bar at either end of the pier just seemed dirty. The kids had fun eating italian ices and watching the people fishing at the end of the pier and playing in the game room though. You can fish without a license on the pier, but there is a nominal charge to do so (to cover their larger fishing license).
