My family and I stayed at the Waters Edge Resort August 2005. When we arrived, the CR rep was more than less friendly. I asked her about the condos, she stated over and over again the condos are decorated by the owners. Since we arrived late we received a condo on the 15th floor, which was fine with us. When entering the condo, the view is beautiful of the ocean. The condo itself was horrible, old furniture, awful smell I could go on. Blonde hair was all over the place and my son and nephews were tripping from the so-called half-way waxed floors (seems like the wax cleaner was just poured onto the floor and left to dry on its own). After twenty minutes in the condo inspecting the bathrooms were so disgusting, my family and I refused to use those bathrooms. We even saw these big black bugs. Finally we went to Wal-Mart to purchase cleaning supplies. My mother and I were up until 5:00 am in the morning cleaning. My mother spent an hour on each bathroom cleaning. The floors had to be cleaned twice, the water was so black. After cleaning the entire condo in the early hours of the morning, we finally went out to the balcony to watch the su come up, that is when we noticed the balcony furniture. The original color is suppose to be white, it was black. We wiped and wiped with our cleaning supplies, no major change. We finally gave up and put towels on all of the chairs. My mother and I finally went to bed, we had a hard time going to sleep, we were itching and found blonde hair in the sheets as well. When my son and nephew got up, they stated they were itching as well. We pulled back all of the covers, pieces of blonde hair everywhere, but to top it all in my mother and father's bed there was an infant sock. We watched every linen, comforter, and blanket in the condo. After everything was cleaned, walls wiped down, the condo looked and smelled good. Again, the view is breath-taking you are right on the ocean. Another thing don't count on maintenance for anything. Upon arrival, we noticed the balcony door did not have a latch to lock the balcony, I know we were on the 15th floor, but still kids do get excited and the youngest child that was with us (6 years old), kept sneaking out the door, we called maintenance. It was finally fixed on the second day. The microwave in the condo blew up on us, maintenance finally brought a new one which could not be used the same time as other electric items in the kitchen (too much electricity). Waters Edge did refund us for our cleaning supplies and took an additional 10% off of the condo when we checked out. This is why I titled my review Your Call, if you want to clean until 5:00 in the morning. By noon the outdoor and indoor pools are already dirty. My family and I have agreed that we will not be staying at the Waters Edge Resort again.
