Our family of 4 stayed here on a trip to Carowinds. The entrance to Carowinds is right across the street. Our room was very clean and the beds very comfortable. The free breakfast was good, with biscuits/gravy, assorted danish, bagles, french toast, cereal, etc. The pool was small but so are all the other hotel pools we have stayed in this area. We would definately stay here again. The regular rate for a double room is 129.00 be sure to ask for the Carowinds rate of 85.00 .

We were walked to this hotel at 1:00 a.m. on 03-25-06 following our room at the neighboring Sleep Inn being given away despite our having a reservation for over one month. The hotels staff was great and really went out of their way to make our bad situation much better. We were given a King Suite with a pull out sleeper non-smoking room. This was a huge upgrade over the room we would have had at the Sleep Inn even with the Jacuzzi not working.

The room had a 60-inch television, which my sons loved. The room was very clean and comforting. We were attending the opening weekend at Carowinds. The hotels desk clerk advised us of the short cut walk to the back (North) gate of the park. You follow the exit drive and cross the parking lot to the back gate.

We didn't use the pool, as it was outdoors and too cool. The breakfast bar was good with fruit, hard-boiled eggs, waffles, bagels, cereals, and biscuits and gravy.

The only downfall of this hotel was that it did not have an elevator and we were on the 2nd floor.

There is a Shoney's next door, which had a really good Barbeque buffet the night we ate there.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. My teenage boys shared the King bed and I slept on the pullout. Good darkness in the room during the night, which I like. The towels and washcloths were plush and the showerhead was good.

We would definitely stay at this hotel again in the future.

I was at this hotel for 1 night with a group. Staff was very friendly when we arrived and was helpful in letting us know about nearby shopping areas etc. My room was very clean and the shower was amazing. The shower head is HUGE. The only thing is that they are going through renovations right now, so during the day you may see ppl painting etc. Some of our group was lucky enough to get a renovated room and it was wonderful complete with nice fluffy white down comfortors. Continental breakfast includes:fruit, cereal, boiled eggs, french toast, oatmeal, fruit etc. Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at this Holiday Inn because we where going to Scarowinds that night and it was across the road. When we arrived our rooms where not ready although check in is at 4:00 and we arrived at 4:30. When I asked the young man at the desk when our rooms would be ready he said that he did not know. I ask to speak to his manager and he said that he was the manager. He was very rude and laughing at the fact that I was very quickly getting upset about the situation. I told him that we had driven six hours and just wanted to rest for awhile and that we really needed our rooms couldn't he give us a time which he would expect the rooms to be ready and he said that they where not yet cleaned and that he would have to ask the maids when they would be ready. He then stood and looked at me and I asked well could you ask them and he says to me I guess I could. He then returns not long after this and told me that our rooms where in fact ready. This was the worst experience that I have ever had at a hotel and I will never stay at a Holiday Inn again.
