“A wonderfully cozy B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013

We just stayed at the Water's Edge Inn while i had to be in Charleston for a professional meeting, and we enjoyed it very much. The staff is exceptionally accommodating, and the room was spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast is very good, too. I will stay here again when I return to the area.

Your first stay was for business, your next stay should be for fun in the sun! It was so nice to meet the two of you, I'm glad we left such a positive impression. Let us know when you are coming back and we can give you our return guest discount of 10%.

We have stayed at Water's Edge Inn three times now. In January we stayed two nights for our anniversary. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The owner stopped by for happy hour and he got a dinner reservation for us at Grille 225 at a wonderful table. The B&B is clean and we love the Key West atmosphere. Happy Hour is fun to meet other guests, and the rooms are spacious and luxurious. The only disappointment on our most recent trip was the hot tub was out of order. Everything else was great. They treated us to a bottle of champagne for our anniversary which was special. In the mornings we like to walk to the beach to go for a run before breakfast. The location is perfect for us because you have easy access to Charleston without being in the middle of the craziness. Water's Edge Inn is a perfect place to go for a relaxing getaway. We will be back!

Room Tip: We have stayed in three different rooms and liked all of them. We prefer rooms on the higher floors.

We love to hear you say that! Grill 225, isn't that just the best steak you have ever eaten! Our location is very convenient, while also being very private and homey. Happy hour lives up to its name, with the exception of it is 3 hours long! It was our pleasure to host you on your special day. Hopefully we see you again soon!

This was my second stay at Water's Edge Inn. We stayed in the Hemingway room and had a wonderful time. The fireplace and screened in porch were wonderful! As before, the staff was very friendly and we totally enjoyed playing "shut the box" during happy hour (we will be ordering that game).
The weather was not perfect but the Inn is so homey and even with the terrential rains on Sunday it was wonderful to just lounge in our beautiful room.
I would give the Water's Edge Inn big applause for a job well done.

We spent most of our time in Charleston which is a very short drive. Folly Beach has much to offer but it seems to cater more to a very young/very local crowd.

Can't wait to go back when the weather is a little warmer and a little sunnier!!!

So glad to hear your stay was great! "Shut the box" is such a fun game you are going to love owning it. Maybe you can make a few dollars as well. We are your home away from home, unlike home though you don't have to clean up! The sun is out now, but temperatures are still a little low for this time of year. Before you know it summer will be upon us, with 100 degree days. We look forward to hosting you again, and remember all return guests get a 10% discount!

This used to be the only place we would stay, but not after this trip. The bed was in need of replacement....I rolled to the middle every night. They used to have great breakfast casseroles from Rita's, but not anymore (each lady cooks, and out of five mornings, none of it was very good). Much to our disappointment, the hot tub was broken, and they didn't know when it was going to be fixed! It's a shame because they had a good thing going, but now it's definitely going down hill.

So sorry to hear that your most recent stay with us was not up to your expectations. I want to thank you for your honesty, and I would also like to address the issues you encountered. After checking the bed ourselves, it appeared that one of the support beams for the bed was indeed cracked, so we have had it reinforced. The casseroles from Rita's were delightful however since Rita's is not open for breakfast during the winter season, we have had to make adjustments. A kitchen was built on site and we have begun offering home cooked foods for our guests. My apologies about no one informing you of the hot tub situation! Since the hot tub needs to be custom built, it does take a while. The Tides hotel has been generous enough to let our guests utilize their outdoor swimming pool in the meantime. We would love to have you come back and let us show you how we have grown.

This is a beautiful B and B in Folly Beach, SC, about 8 miles from Charleston. The location is fantastic and I would happily stay again. The Caribbean Room I stayed in was great, very spacious and relaxing. Very nice staff. They printed out directions from Drives of a Lifetime for me one morning. Breakfast was good.

For some reason, I did not get Housekeeping service on my 2nd day. I did not have the Do Not Disturb placard up, so I am not sure why. This was a poor mark on an otherwise wonderful stay. I am sure this was a simple error.

As mentioned in other reviews, the Jimmy Buffet music goes a LONG way. I like the idea of keeping with the Key West theme but maybe start at 10?

Loved the house and the hammock in the back was the best!

That hammock does offer a great view of the marsh! We loved being your host, for your Folly Beach get-a-way. My apologies about the issue with housekeeping! Thank you for bringing this matter to my attention. We strive for 100% guest satisfaction, and are making sure all of the staff is being thorough when it comes to cleanliness. When you are ready to come back out to Charleston, call us! We gladly offer 10% off each night for return guests.

The best thing about this place is everything! Comfortable beds with layers of covers and white noise machines. Waterfall shower heads, tubs, jacuzzis oh my. Decadent breakfast and afternoon cocktails. And every little thing in between.

Very impressed with everything and everyone at Water's Edge! Perfect location. On the quite side of the island but an easy walk to the beach and downtown restaurants. This was the perfect spot as we live locally but felt like had gone on vacation.

Thank you for such kind words! We look forward to hosting your stay-cation again. I like to think of us as your home base on the island. Bask in the sun on our 7 miles of beautiful beach, take in some local eateries, maybe a margarita or two. Then leave the bustle of the beach behind and come back home. Keep in mind all return guests receive a 10% discount!
