“Best She Crab Soup Ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2010

The food was excellent and the She Crab Soup was the best I have ever had. The cost was reasonable and we were there off season but it was still worth going.

“In a word - dreadful”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2009

I ordered the grilled seafood platter. What I got for $15.99 was four shrimp, four scallops and a couple of pieces of purported mahi-mahi, served in a small dish. The rest of the platter was limp, barely thawed broccoli and green beans and overly seasoned potatoes. It was dreadful.

“What fun!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2009

It's a down home type of restaurant with the usual nautical theme. I had steamed shrimp and they were great'. My wife had crab cake sliders and she said they were ok, nothing to write home about. But it's the whole experience there. Our waitress JENNIFER was just the best. Knowledgable about the area and funny. Pretty, too. Go there and experience what it was like here 25 years ago. Have fun.

“Don't waste your money on this food”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2009

We have passed by this restaurant many times and decided to try it out. The outside dining area is nice, with misters and sky chairs, but the food was nothing more than freezer to fryer specialties that were not good. I sure wish there was a better seafood restaurant on Folly. Maybe one day.

“Local fare; a taste of the beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2009

I lived in Chas for 35 years and spent my summers on Folly. Since moving to the Northwest ~ 5 years ago, I've missed the local food more than anything else.
So, finding myself back in Chas this last Jun, I headed to a place for fried shrimp, hushpuppies, and atomsphere - all right there on the deck of The Crab Shack.
If you want to taste a hint of the laid-back, southern beach life - slide into one of the picnic tables, grab a cold beer, a big plate of deep-fried local shrimp and watch the world go by.
