“Nice Place to Grab a Drink”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013 via mobile

Fun little bar, had one of the specialty mixed drinks. Can't recall the name, but had OJ with fresh ground nutmeg on top. Very different and delish. Reasonable prices, quick service. Would go back!

“Favorite Folly Bar”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

This place is GREAT! What you expect a beach bar to be like. Seems like the kind of place the locals would go even when the tourist season was over. Their burgers are delicious and the beers are ice cold. Good atmosphere at night - more like a spot to hang out than a club. If you want to hear good music that's not another Jimmy Buffett cover band this is your spot. We come here every trip to Folly and will definitely be back.

“Great place for live music!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

Checked out this little bar on a Sunday night for some live music. Great scene for music. Indoor and outdoor space. We did not eat so I have no comment on the food but the beer was nice and cold =) I liked the beachy decor and the surfing videos playing on the screens. Fun place!

“Great, fresh, fish tacos!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013 via mobile

Got the ahi tuna tacos that were on special. Very delicious! Good service, fun outdoor patio. Drinks reasonably priced, however no beer on tap (negative).

“Great little place in Folly Beach!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

Spent a long weekend in Folly for a friend's 40th birthday April 25-29, and we were looking for a low-key, casual place to eat our first night there. It's been a few years since I've been to Folly, so I made some notes from Trip Advisor about the best places to eat/hang out. The Surf Bar sounded like what we were looking for on a Thursday night. It's just off Center St, definitely a hole-in-the wall kind of place you'd expect the locals frequent. Our waitress was awesome...she came over as soon as we were seated, and she was super friendly. She checked on us often for drinks, answered all of our questions, made confident recommendations about the food and shared with us how differeend sauces/items were prepared. The menu is mostly limited to "bar food"...wings, burgers, sandwiches, etc. but they did have several daily specials posted. Everything we had was great, but the chicken and steak Phillies were the best! Our friend liked Surf Bar so much, he got our group to come here for dinner the night of his actual birthday! Again, it's nothing fancy...it's a small, casual place with dim lighting where you can watch sports, bring your dog with you on the covered patio area, and just hang out. The drink prices are reasonable, nice selection of beers, friendly staff, good food for the money,,,an over-all laidback atmosphere, which is what most people want and expect at Folly Beach!
