“Incredibly relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2014

Comfortable and spacious unit - could use some updating. Beach access was nice as the beaches here are simply beautiful and not crowded. I've never seen so many shells still intact. Overall a great place to get away for a week and unwind.

We stayed at Marsh Point in a one bedroom deluxe and the Jacuzzi is huge. Unfortunately the shower is tiny. It is a walk in and a properly sized person will probably bump their elbows quite a few times during their stay. Our Marsh Point unit was spacious but could use an update over the next few years. There is a bike path near the parking lot that will take you past any of the beach entrances without having to walk down the road. The beach is not far. We enjoyed our stay.

This was my escape from snowy NNY but that crazy cold followed me! I stayed at Marsh Point. It was very clean and modern with lots of room. It was also WARM. There was an enclosed HEATED pool within walking distance of my unit. During the unusual cold, staff was dealing with freezing weather and the Island lost electricity for 3 morning hours, Staff called to check on me several times. They were attentive and concerned about the welfare of their guests during the cold weather. The property manager hosted a wine and cheese party for all the guests to express the resorts appreciation of the disruption of our vacation and guest patience during the loss of power. I came back to NY well rested and excited to find dates for my return trip to Ocean Ridge! Oh..must say, had the BEST breakfast EVER at the SeaCow Eatery! Try the grits! If you go into Charleston, visit Fleet Landing Restaurant and try their 'stuffed hushpuppies'. HINT: they are the size of tennis balls!

We were there for Labor Day Weekend and were unaware of the Shag Festival they had going on. It was great! If you are able to request The Villages, these are the 2 story condo's right by the Shag Festival which is an annual event at Labor Day. We are booked to return this year as well.

Room Tip: Request The Villages

This was the 3rd visit to Ocean Ridge and it was the best.
We stayed in Marsh Point this time and was somewhat leery after reading the latest reviews, The unit was very clean and well maintained. The were new appliances throughout and the furniture was in very good shape. Our only complaint was there was no place to store groceries except the fridge. We had to pile things on the counter and dining table. If not for this I would have given it 5 stars.
We have stayed in the Villages and Villas and neither was as nice as this unit.

Very relaxing and beautiful trip. The rooms are refurbished townhomes and are quite roomy. Ours was a newly remodeled room and it was everything we expected. We had a pool and hot tub in our area and was nice to see the pool being checked regularly. Would definelty stay here again.

It would have been better to stay at Wyndham Ocean Ridge from Thanksgiving night until the end of the weekend, but there were no openings available, so I took the first available unit that opened the night after (Friday), which meant that I had to book a hotel on Thanksgiving night and switched over the next afternoon to Edisto. I was upgraded from a two bedroom to a four bedroom unit, which turned out to be a very good thing. We were placed at South Pointe, and for the discounted price, it can't be beat! It was remodeled, completely open, and spacious. The house was so tall that my kids and siblings decided to play pillow fights from the balcony even before we unpacked! It was a bit colder since it was fall, but being able to enjoy the morning sunrise on the best was one of the best experiences I ever had--it reminded me of the same sunrises in front of the beach house we were living back overseas. Growing up in the city, none of us realized that the water out of those faucets were salt water and not filtered per se, until we tasted our coffee and breakfast porridge! Ha! Lesson learned for us! No wonder we saw people getting water from a faucet outside the police/fire station the night we checked in. If there was just one critique, I did not understand the whole signing out the gym key thing from security, I guess it is not 24-hours as I would have hoped (but then again, we're on an island folks). My husband and I definitely appreciated the "secludedness" of the area, and would definitely come back to enjoy it all over again--but probably when it's warmer.

Room Tip: These four-bedroom units at South Pointe are very high and only blocked by balconies, so if you have...
