We went here for dinner on a weeknight; just two of us. The place was virtually empty. We received a lukewarm greeting and were seated. After about 5 minutes, our drink order was taken. That seemed a little slow given the emptiness of the place, but no big deal. After several more minutes, our food order was taken. A table of 5 next to us who arrived at least 15 minutes after us seemed to be the center of attention. Shortly after their order was taken, their food arrived with several apologies for the wait (which wasn't really a wait at all!) from not only their server, but the manager as well. It appeared they were quite a priority for some reason. After we were about ready to get up and leave, our food arrived (almost a 45 minute wait). No apologies or explanation, which was surprising.
The sushi was fantastic, but the service was definitely not. Based on the reviews, this doesn't seem to be the standard, so we'll visit here again. Everyone is entitled to a bad day.
