“Refreshing Surprise in the Vista”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

Had dinner at Cola's when our original destination was closed that evening. First time there and pleasantly surprised. Food was top notch and unique for this area. Wife's scallops were great, my lamb meatball penne was very good. Upscale eclectic decor blending modern touches and the building's history is way cool. A bit pricey for what we had. We will go again.

“Hip lil joint!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2013

Hip little bar/restaurant in the heart of downtown Columbia. The establishment tries very hard to be contemporary, and for this part of the country, it's probably the standard for hip that other peers try to strive for.

The food is good and reasonably priced, but I can't with good conscience give it four stars when you compare it with other very good, four star restaurants in major markets like New York, Washington, DC, etc.

The specialty drink menu was limited and severely lacking in creativity.

The seating and tables were comfortable and spacious.

The servers were very friendly and attentive.

The desserts were good, but not overly creative or gourmet.

All in all, a very nice establishment. Probably one of the best in this market.

“Could be better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

The service wasn't bad, the view is greatthe tables are roomy. But, for the price you pay, the food should be MUCH better. Will try it again to see if it has improved.

“Good food, nice place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

Ate there tonight with a large group. The menu was good, a little fancy for my taste, but very satisfying. The fish dishes looked very appetizing and I had the trout which was very good.

“Great experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

We showed up without reservations, which I wasn't sure about, but it was still a little early, and the staff were super helpful. Our server was friendly and attentive. Our food was delicious! We enjoyed the spice rubbed chicken (a little spicy as the name indicates!) and the orange glazed pork chop (which was a little tough). The sides were awesome: creamy grits, mac and cheese (fancy corkscrew mac and cheese!), spicy greens, and polenta fries (yum, yum!) Overall we had a great experience, but what I appreciate most about Cola's is that we got a good bit of food for the money. Most nicer restaurants have a tendency to give you a little food for a lot of money, and I was super pleased by the portion sizes at Cola's. I would definitely recommend Cola's for a date night or a special occasion with family or friends!
