“A real dump”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

Terrible smell in lobby (and room). Booked room with kind bed - no king - Did not appear clean - beds were horrendous - no hair dryers - no internet - no "Microfridge" - False advertising at it's finest. This chain should be embarrassed to have this facility using its name.

Room Tip: Don't book here

Rooms were falling apart with cracks in ceiling and walls. Cigarette burns all over bathtub. Smelled horrible and staff wasnt professional at all. Neighborhood is many empty buildings with what appeared to be vagrants hangouts.

The pictures online of this hotel would lead anyone to believe that it is a decent place to stay while visiting Columbia, SC. These photos are incredibly deceiving. I traveled with a large group (approximately 30 people). Upon arrival, we were given 1 key per room and only one key. Each room was booked for 4 people, there where a minimum amount of towels and when we asked for more were treated almost disrespectfully. Half of the rooms themselves were under renovation and the whole complex smelled of fresh paint and other noxious fumes. The service staff consisted of two people who did not in any way make our stay enjoyable. The pool was a joke - with one chair on the pool deck. The water and pool area in general was filthy.
Lastly, upon arriving back to the hotel on the Saturday night we stayed there, we were greeted by approximately 15 police officers that were taking care of an "issue". (We never did find out what the issue was). Upon asking the police officer what was going on, we were told to go to our rooms and stay there until the situation was cleared up. Now, to be fair this could have happened at any hotel, but after all the other negatives, this one really takes the cake.
In a nutshell, poor service, bad atmosphere, delapitated room condition (many were missing lights or refridgerators, etc). The online images are ridiculously misleading. If none of this matters to you - hey its a cheap place to stay that is close to downtown Columbia, but I would not recommend it.

It was cold. The room was not heated. Called the desk. They said they don't heat them until occupied. Turned on heater. Luke warm air. Called desk. They said all rooms have same kind of heater. The asked if "I" would like to check out some of the other rooms.
Only offered a 5 dollar discount. Room did not heat up to comfortable until middle of the night. Room was worn.
Don't stay here.
