We tried to hit this place before without a reservation and left unhappy without getting a table after a 50 minute wait. This time, we had a reservation at 6 on a Friday and wow, it turned out we were eligible for the happy hour menu. Cheaper cocktails (although they didn't have ginger beer necessary for the Moscow Mule on the featured menu--really?), beer specials (skip the Pearlz brand), and app specials. The local oysters (from Virginia, not the backboard specials) were a great bargain and delicious, although I have to say they were not expertly shucked. There were bits of shells in the oysters--a real novice in the kitchen. But the oysters were fresh and great (although I like my horseradish on the side, not already in the cocktail sauce). Black bean soup was the best I ever had. The tilapia taco was great. One diner said he fried shrimp was one of the nest ever (and we have spent much time in Charleston). This is worth a go, but do it with a reservation.
