This little Italian restaurant delivered that kind of family-run feel where they take pride in making sure you are served well and we were. Our server was at our table whenever there was a need. Her attentiveness and friendliness was exceptional, making what would otherwise be just an average dining experience at least have the feeling of being special.
The food at Alodia's came out of the open kitchen nice and hot. The portion sizes were generous and the presentation was appealing. We ordered lasagna, baked ziti and chicken marsala, all of which were somewhat pleasing. The lasagna lacked a heartiness to the sauce to compliment the otherwise bland pasta and cheese. One of my dining partners who had the baked ziti reported a similar response to the red sauce on her pasta. It had good tomato flavor, but no depth. My wife found the texture of the chicken in her chicken marsala to be more stewed than sauteed, but the flavor of her meal was good. Overall, the food came across as enjoyable, but nothing to rave about for our personal tastes.
The dimly lit dining room provided a pleasant atmosphere that rounds out this Italian restaurant as a place worth visiting for it's friendly, excellent service and overall enjoyable dining experience.
