“very helpful front desk”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

Find' t expect much for the price, but was pleasantly surprised! Bed linens and towels were very nice and clean. Flat screen TV on wall was great! Request for extension cord was met. We're given plates and utensils and coffee and use of the breakfast area for a small family gathering for our military Grandson to get to eat his favorite cheesecake his Mom had made and brought from Indiana!!
Continental breakfast was good including waffles and bananas!
Only complaint, carpets were dirty and bathrooms could be updated!
Was very close to Fort Jackson and food!

First room I was booked into had a deficient air conditioner. Notified front desk and that individual came to inspect unit; like I was fabricating a story. After his failure to repair I was moved to another room. A/C was turned off and it took three hours for room to cool down.

Rooms are outdated and dirty with visable signs of distress. Stepped in a big pile of something on the carpet which was sticky. Shower heads are 2.5 GPM low flow however they are cacked with deposits so water only trickles out. The list goes on.

I have stayed at $50/night hotels much nicer than this one. The owners of this hotel are the typical people who will spend very little for upkeep but rake in the money. Being near Ft Jackson they are almost guaranteed twice a week to sell out rooms. Don't fall for the trap, go somewhere else. Oh and how could I forget the trains speeding past the hotel all through the night a mere 30 yards away.

Do not stay here! Horrible smell, one of those places that you would rather sleep in a car. Comforter had pieces of something on it. Blanket had burnholes in it. Trim was falling off the walls in bathroom. If free, still wouldn't stay here. Guy at front counter was behind bullet-proof glass.

Room Tip: Do not stay here

I have stayed here several times and every stay has been great. The rooms are clean beds are comfortable and for 50 $ it is ecomonic worthy. If you are passing through not bad on the pockets. The front staff is helpful and what made me come back was the gentleman that always says "My pleasure." Respect goes along way with me and I appreciate anyone going out of there way to make sure I am taken care of.

I've stayed here for awhile while transitioning between homes. I find the hotel a great value with a large room and a comfortable bed.

The rooms are comfortable and clean. It is an older hotel, so there will be imperfections that may make for an appearance that the place isn't real clean. I have seen staff put a lot of effort into cleaning and upkeep - both inside and outside of the rooms. The breakfast room is clean.

Weekends can be busy and a bit noisy. If there are any disturbances, they are taken care of promptly and appropriately.

Worst hotel experience ever. If I hadn't already booked the room and been dead on my feet, I would have passed it by. The "non-smoking" room reeked of smoke. There were suspicious-looking stains on the upholstered chair. Loud groups of young men and women roamed the halls all night, entering and exiting at will by the back door that banged every time it was used. My son remarked that we must have checked in to the local "prostitute motel," and I believe he was right. There was a sign on the front door that the hotel was under surveillance for illegal activity by the local sheriff's office. There was absolutely no water pressure or hot water in the shower in the morning. It was so dirty we were literally afraid to partake of the "free" breakfast. I can't believe this property is part of any chain, and no matter how cheap, it's definitely not worth staying at.
