“Nick's Tavern and Deli = Clemson's Best Beer Pub and Best Pub Grub by a Mile”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2011

Nick's is a great little spot. I stopped in with friends for lunch on a football Saturday. The game was at night, so there wasn't much of a crowd yet. We were very pleasantly surprised by Nick's. The beer selection is not huge, but it's fantastic in terms of quality. The friendly and accommodating owner, Ken Revis-Wagner (a Clemson biology professor) and his staff really know their stuff when it comes to suds. They were remarkably tolerant of my party of South Carolina Gamecocks fans, too! The real surprise was the food. Excellent sandwiches and salads. Other pub grub, too (an excellent homemade spinach artichoke dip, for example) and for the very serious beer connoisseur, homemade pretzels. Reasonable prices are the rule for food at Nick's, too.

Nick's has an authentic neighborhood pub feel. That means it's slightly worse-for-wear, or delightfully shabby, or even a dive. Whatever. We loved the staff, Ken, the food, the excellent beer selection, and especially the overall inviting atmosphere of the place.

While in Clemson, Nick's is a must-stop.

“A real pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2011

When looking for a real pub, Nick's is the place. It has the feel of a real Old Wrold/English/Irish pub, somewhat vintage, w/ a good selection of beer and finger food. It is quality, speciality, decently priced and not like any other.

“Best bar in and around Clemson”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2010

Nick's has everything I want in a college-town bar. Good food, good people, the best beer selection in town. Generally speaking, you won't find the frat or sorority crowd at Nick's, which is a plus in my view. The crowd is laid back and friendly. Many people bring their dogs to the bar.

Nick's has the best beer selection in Clemson and the tap beers rotate frequently. The food is what you'd expect. Good bar food. Sandwiches, snacks, etc. The pretzels and pimento cheese may be the best thing on the menu.

“I Love Nicks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2010

Nicks is simply a fun place to spend some time and meet up with friends, new and old. It is a bar/pub with a menu that has a suprising amount of variety: appetizers (including hummus with pita chips, fried mushrooms, and artichoke dip), sandwiches, corn dogs, baked potatoes with toppings, a delicious "build your own" mesclun salad, and burgers. The food is fresh and delicious. They have an incredible selection of beer, both on tap and in bottles. They also serve wine. Nicks reminds me of an intimate English Pub--you'll rub shoulders with locals, college employees, and students of all ages.

“Nice Pub Atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2010

I think of this place more as a bar/pub than a restaurant. Different than most of the other bars in town because of the variety of beers.
