Nick's is a great little spot. I stopped in with friends for lunch on a football Saturday. The game was at night, so there wasn't much of a crowd yet. We were very pleasantly surprised by Nick's. The beer selection is not huge, but it's fantastic in terms of quality. The friendly and accommodating owner, Ken Revis-Wagner (a Clemson biology professor) and his staff really know their stuff when it comes to suds. They were remarkably tolerant of my party of South Carolina Gamecocks fans, too! The real surprise was the food. Excellent sandwiches and salads. Other pub grub, too (an excellent homemade spinach artichoke dip, for example) and for the very serious beer connoisseur, homemade pretzels. Reasonable prices are the rule for food at Nick's, too.
Nick's has an authentic neighborhood pub feel. That means it's slightly worse-for-wear, or delightfully shabby, or even a dive. Whatever. We loved the staff, Ken, the food, the excellent beer selection, and especially the overall inviting atmosphere of the place.
While in Clemson, Nick's is a must-stop.
