“Constantly expanding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

I have visited the South Carolina Botanical Gardens ever since I attended Clemson University from 1990-95. It was beautiful back then, and is even more beautiful now. Contantly expanding it's beautiful trails, historic buildings, and of course beds of gorgeous flowers, plants and trees. Clemson has an amazing Agricultural and Horticultural graduate and undergraduate program. All of the specimens are labeled well, which makes the visit very educational. A great place to take the family for a walk and picnic, or to go hiking or jogging. Easy access off Perimeter Rd. on the edge of the university. Minutes away from Clemson's downtown shops and restaurants.

“A botanical wonderland!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

I first visited these gardens several years ago when Southern Living had built its idea house "Wren House." What a lovely place to stroll, enjoy, and learn. The plants are magnificent and marked, and the staff are unsurprisingly but pleasantly informative. My husband groans whenever I visit the Gardens though because he sees honey-do's ahead when I come home with plants and ideas.

“Beautiful landscape”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

Quiet, beautifully landscaped. there is also a period house. Unfortunately it is only open on the weekends and I was there on a Tuesday. Could use better signage.

“Garden worth the trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2012

The gardens have new features each year, and the additional of the Southern Living home was great. Don't forget the early morning Friday walks.

“Quiet and blooming”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012

This is a large lot with an arboretum, duck pond, ampitheater, train caboose, gift shop/visitor center, geology museum, and several gardens. There are wooded nature trails and pathways through the gardens. The gardens include some placards and instructional podiums. Very enjoyable! When I was there, on a weekday, the place was pretty deserted.
