This stay had to have been the absolute worst ever in a "Comfort" inn. We originally got a room by the "green" pool, that was wet, so damp that the bathroom ceiling was mildewed. The television was broken so the desk clerk moved us. The new room was a little better, but still very damp--the air conditioner was left off. The air conditioner unit was broken in this room and in order to run it, (cold or hot) it blew directly on the first bed. I called and asked for it to be repaired. I was brought two blankets instead. I had to lay one blanket on the table to keep the air from blowing directly on the bed.(I was told maintainance was no longer on duty.) When I went to crawl into bed I found an earing between the sheets, and the sheets were not clean. We slept on top of the beds. I asked the front desk for the sheets to be changed on both beds, and again requested that the air conditioner be fixed. We left for the day. Upon our return I found that the beds had been 'made up' but the sheets had still not been changed as there were 'little hairs' still on the sheets. We slept on top of the bed again. I again requested a change and the air conditioner to be repaired. A man came at 8:30 pm that evening and put a new cover on the air condition unit and insisted on telling us if we didn't run the air we wouldn't have a problem. (It was 94 degrees with 100% humidity) The next day we again left early, when I returned, I found the maid service had again 'made the bed', and there was no soap, shampoo, coffee creamer, or sugars in the room. She left us two small towels and 4 washrags. She had put another bag of coffee on the pot and emptied the trash, that was it. We again slept on top of the bed for the third night. Upon check out I was given a receipt that read that the bill was 190.00. I paid 247!! When I asked the person at the desk said someone must have charged me wrong, because the bill was really 190. I asked for a refund. She said because I booked through lodging.com she couldn't refund any money. There was no manager to speak to. I called lodging.com and they said they have a contract with you for the 'lowest' prices. Someone is not telling the truth here. We left assured that a manager would be on after 10 am. I called at 11 and was told there was no manager just the maintainance person acting as a manager. He was not helpful and assured me he would talk to a manager and call me back. It has been 3 days and I still have not heard from anyone. I don't know how long it takes to repair a hotel, but don't you think that after a car goes through the window of a neighboring room that it would be repaired right away instead of have cardboard over the hole and two metal poles added to try and support the upper walkway? Never again. I have had such wonderful stays in other states. I never expected this, and at a cost of over 75$ a night!
