“Fantastic Hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2014

We came here a little nervous of what to expect and were blown away! They upgraded our room to a suite and the staff were all extremely pleasant. Trotter's breakfast was amazing. The hotel looks very appealing and the suite was great! We would come back in a heartbeat.

Less money than historic district, but quiet, very clean, comfy and an oasis after touring. Mom/daughter weekend trip. We LOVED our boutique suite! Huge tub, great bed, roomy area to watch TV. Nice breakfast and coupons. Why would you spend more? Only about 10 minutes drive to the Historic district. Coffee drinker? Bring extra K-cups for the room and avoid the charge in the dining room. We will return!

Your comment saying "Less money than historic district, but quiet, very clean, comfy and an oasis after touring" perfectly sums up what we are out to accomplish here at our family owned and operated hotel. Thanks for saying that "We will return!"

We chose the Town and Country based on tripadvisor reviews and it fit the price we wanted to pay for Thanksgiving holiday trip to both Charleston and Savannah. The price is certainly great, but the location is not the best. If you're sightseeing around Charleston it is best to pay more and stay in the historic centre, especially if you have limited time and really want to experience Charleston itself. The rooms were ok, but on each day we were there, as soon as we walked outside all you could smell was sewerage!! We don't know if this is a usual problem or just limited to the time we were there. Nice staff and a good value, basic hotel.

We greatly appreciate your business and are honored that you chose our family owned, managed and operated hotel. We are currently in our 4th consecutive generation in the hotel business here in Charleston, SC. The overwhelming majority of our guests (as is evidenced by the hundreds and hundreds of Five Star reviews below) chose our hotel because they can stay in an upscale, full service hotel within a 10-15 minute drive of downtown Charleston and do this for literally hundreds of dollars less per night plus taxes than a comparable downtown property.

All the nice things said about this hotel are true. Breakfast, especially with the $15 coupon is much better than typical hotel. That said, wished that I had spent another $100 and gotten something in the historic area in Charleston. It has been about 25 or 30 years since I have visited this lovely historic city. I think it is much nicer than Savanna. Remember readers that this city gets very hot in late spring and summer. Smelly horse drawn carriages don't help either. The city should retire these poor animals. Back to the main subject, Town & Country Inn is a very nice hotel and a good value, but is a bit of a drive to the historic district. I was not crazy about the commute, especially after a few glasses of wine at dinner. P.S. It is easy to get lost getting back to the hotel.

Green Features: I applaud the environmentally friend practices of this hotel.

We are so glad that you had a wonderful stay at out family hotel. I would like to correct a few statements that are inaccurate/not factual in your review however. The first concerns the cost to stay here vs. stay in a comparable guestroom in downtown Charleston. The cost is several hundred dollars per night excluding taxes and parking ...and on the weekends more than that. Definitely not $100.000 per night. Also the drive is only 5.4 miles to the city center from the hotel. We definitely appreciate your business and hope do you do decide to return.

I stayed here during an extended Memorial Day weekend getaway with a friend. The hotel was right on 17 - pretty central to the places we wanted to visit including the plantations, Folly Beach, and downtown Charleston - but you most definitely need a car to stay here. This hotel had a great breakfast buffet - make sure to get the $15/day discount by booking directly through the hotel. Beds were comfy, only downside was that our room was adjacent to the fitness center and we could hear someone running on the treadmill every morning at 7 :/.

Please contact me directly if you need anything on your return visit.

I didn't stay at the hotel, but visited the buffet and it was excellent. I had the Sunday brunch on May 25 and the food was true soul food cooking. The buffet offered a good selection of food for any palete. The staff was very friendly and courteous. I give the Town and Country Inn buffet 4 stars.

I am delighted to hear that you so enjoyed Trotters Restaurant here in the hotel. As I am sure you noticed when you came Trotters is extremely popular with locals which is a testament to the quality of the food and service provided. Thanks again for your business and I hope you will think of us when you return to Charleston.
