“Great Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

rooms are very nice. In the basic double and very happy. Mini fridge, very nice bathroom and appear to be recently purchased and renovated. It is very close to the expressway, on rt 17 so not far from downtown but far enough. Very good rates in West Ashley which puts you easy access to the beaches. Would definitely stay there.

Room Tip: They all seem very quiet. We were right next to an exit and never heard it.

We booked a 5 night stay at the Town and Country Suites in Charleston, SC at the end of March. With so many hotels to choose from in Charleston, it was hard to decide on an affordable hotel that still offered some of the amenities that one would expect. I'm so glad we picked this one! The location was great, only 4.5 miles from the city center, and most importantly, it was a great area. There was plenty of parking, which is sometimes hard to come by in Charleston. The staff, from the front desk to housekeeping, were extremely friendly and helpful at all times. The rooms were very, very clean and extremely well appointed. The beds and pillows were very nice and very comfortable! This hotel has undergone a complete remodel inside and they are currently completing the outside remodeling. Even though there was some construction on the exterior, it never bothered us in the least. The hotel also has great room service and a wonderful restaurant attached to the hotel called Trotters. I highly recommend this hotel next time you find yourself in Charleston!

The hotel is right off 26 on 17. 17 can get very busy so getting out of parking lot can be tricky By staying out of downtown we were able to save some money but did not give up much in quality. They have some rooms that have two queens and a sleeper sofa that has a mattress that is inflated by a electric pump. The front if the hotel was getting refaced while we there. We only ate at the restaurant for breakfast. They were offering 15 dollar vouchers per night which they get back if you have a group of four or more with their prices. Any breakfast is almost same price as buffet so you are better off getting buffet. Service was very good. The only small issue I had was when I asked if my rate was AAA the clerk told me that was the nightly rate. So he didn't answer my question. Spent 120 for Thursday and ~150 for Friday which wasn't bad for being able to put 5 of us in room comfortably and it's closeness to downtown. Will defined stay here again we come back to Charleston area, with group of 5. Did not use pool because highs it were only in 50s And 60s and it was outdoors but it looked clean.

I am so glad that you pointed out that by saving money and staying with us you felt that you did not give up in quality...that is our value proposition here in the hotel. Paying a lower price to stay with our hotel vs. downtown hotels does not mean giving up quality. If there is ever anything I can do for you please let me know.

We had a beautiful time in Charleston, SC and staying at Town & Country was one of the best decisions we made. The rooms were top notch and the staff were so helpful (especially Jennyfer) and friendly! We can't wait to go back and will definitely stay at T&C again!

Despite the continued renovations, the hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful and accommodating. The hotel looks great after the renovations to the living areas. I hope the management can keep it looking as good. The distance to downtown isn't terrible. This is an affordable way for a family to stay comfortably near downtown Charleston.

On our recent visit to Charleston my husband and I wanted more value in our hotel so we decided to check out Town and Country. It ROCKS!! The W and St Regis have nothing on the guest rooms at T & C!!
It is a short drive into downtown about 10-15 minutes and the parking is not a problem. Plus there is a cute neighborhood nearby with great restaurants. We loved our visit and plan to return next year.

Wow!! What a cool review thank you so much. Thanks also for pointing out that just down the road in the Avondale area there are many charming and upscale restaurants as well as super casual places to go eat or have a drink. If there is ever anything I can do for you in the future please let me know.

We read the reviews about the construction on site, but we were still surprised to see the extent of the rehab as we drove in. I have to admit that we had some initial misgivings, but we went to the lobby and were very pleasantly surprised. The lobby and common areas were all in pristine condition. Our room was towards the back of the extensive property so we were not disturbed at all by the construction in the front. The room had all the conveniences that we could have hoped for .... refrigerator, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, etc. It was tastefully furnished with neutral colors and had ample space for all of our belongings. We had a walk-in shower as well as a standard bathtub. We were given coupons for their hot breakfast buffet which we took advantage of although I would have also appreciated some cold selections such as yogurt and fresh fruit. Still, it was nice to have the option to have breakfast on the property. Overall, we could highly recommend this hotel based on our experience. We were able to extend our stay in Charleston because this hotel was so reasonably priced.

Room Tip: The standard room had more than adequate space and amenities. We stayed toward the back of the prope...
